It’s funny how completely wrong a tv can look these days with the wrong settings. I, like you, didn’t worry because I knew it would be like that but my first impression was the same. Especially with gaming, toggle a wrong setting or two and all the life is washed out of the image.

I have a Sony tv from 2 years ago that looked absolutely gross when I hooked my Xbox up to it. Like dark harsh colors mixed ridiculous reds and greens. There has to be a huge set of customers out there that don’t know any better. They just plug and play and think that’s that.  Kind of annoying.

It baffles me just how bad these look out of the box as well. I mean I already knew you had to fully set these things up properly but I was a tad shocked when I first started it up and some soccer match came on with that all this "AI Image Enhancement" garbage making it look like a badly emulated SNES game. The grass looked neon green somehow!?

It's a beautiful film; there are individual scenes and shots that are great to admire on their own.

I think I needed Mr. Pocket after the first three. I wouldn't consider the first two sad, and some of it is comedic, but the third just made us feel awful for the thespian. He even knows what's going to happen when he sees the Impresario tossing a rock into the river, and he can't do anything about it!

So the story's placement worked well for us, especially considering what followed. Was it our favorite? Our favorite as stories that left an impact were probably 3/5/6, but all were good! I mean, the PAN SHOT guy actually might have made the biggest imprint. :p

So this is down to some serious minutiae but what makes the Mr. Pocket one for me particularly is the visual of the invading gunfighter. He's a very particular looking man facially. Not ugly but he has a certain sinister look about it and I love his face and black, dingy attire juxtaposed with the absolutely pristine, beautiful landscapes. There's also a great calmness to the shooting and overall struggle. No big dramatic music etc., just the quiet nature around them that doesn't give a shit about their petty dispute.

That's not to say the entire film isn't filled with moments like this but that worked particularly well for me. Also kudos to Tom Waits, he did a great job. The only thing I didn't like, to put it mildly, about the movie in general is the John Ford-ish depiction of Native Americans in The Gal Who Got Rattled.

Hello everyone, I would like to share my ULTIMATE set of Optimized Settings for all LG 2017-2022 OLEDs and Xbox One/Series X|S , PC, PS4/PS5 and Switch gaming, with the best PQ and lowest...

Fantastic, exactly what I needed. Thanks.

  4. I've actually seen this all the way through four times now. There's something about this movie that just really clicks with me. I find it endearing, beautiful and sometimes really thoughtful. My favorite story would be the Tom Waits Mr. Pocket one. I also love the story and note it ends on.

Anyway, not much negatives from me honestly. For how much they did here, it's a very fine achievement on all fronts as far as I'm concerned.

Are there any widely recognized setup guides to follow you guys know of? Like a respected website with setup guides or similar? I got really overwhelmed trying to find a proper guide yesterday between all the half-assed clickbait articles, incorrect information regarding menu options and what not.

Specifically looking for PS5 setup I guess if possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated because after all the time I spent with it yesterday, I felt very underwhelmed and not really what I wanted after dropping the money on the fucking thing. It's 100% my confusion with the 87987343 options though.

Try the imprisoned dude in the demo. That to me felt like the biggest step up in quality compared to the first game. In terms of story being told, pacing, quality of combat and combat encounters, sense of stakes, amount of voice acting, quality of the actual world itself, etc, it all felt far, far more refined and cohesive.

Of course, it could regress back to being the shallow experience Octopath 1 largely is right after that (somehow Octopath 1 makes the concept of a dual class system boring) but based on those reviews, I'm at least hopeful.

I don't blame anyone for being massively skeptical though. I'm sloggin' my way through the first game right now mostly for the hell of it and it's as mid as it gets.

Yeah it seems pretty well done. I'm glad that it at least at first glance appears to be more than the shallow experience that I find the first game to be, which seemed to mostly coast along in public perception based on art style and not much else.

Bit worried now after seeing all the comments in here!

I did play the prisoner segment only in the demo and even there I thought the story was okay but definitely disliked the voice acting. I actually tuened it off, I prefer just reading and half of the dudes unintentionally sound like Pateick Bateman somehow.

BUT. It is really fun and gorgeous in other ways. Just hope its not like Witcher 3 where I'm enamored for a bit and then the game just drops and drops.

  7. I never played the first one and tried the demo for 2 on a whim today. Played the entire 3 hours and really enjoyed myself. I replayed Chrono Trigger a while back and I'm really liking turn based combat again and this feels great.

I just spent full price on Dead Space so not just yet but yea, it's a purchase pretty soon I'm thinking.

  8. I'm not sure how relevant or useful this is but one tidbit I can throw out there is that my ex was a med student in her residency and I remember her telling me just how much hospitals/doctors get sued. For way, way less shit by the sound of it too. I guess what I'm saying is that you're not being dramatic or overreacting by looking into and potentially going for malpractice. This sounds way worse than half the shit my ex told me about.

Also, best of luck to you guys and hopefully you can get some follow-up procedure to correct the mistake(s) lined up quickly.

I'm actually not minding the wait too much myself. We've been blessed with a lot of good Resident Evil lately. After the deluge of garbage for years on end, this short wait feels like nothing at all!

Let's not get crazy, that RE8 DLC was almost impressively bad! They might be hitting their stride again.

I've never looked up faster what team is working on what after finishing that and instantly worrying about RE4R.

Yeah basically this! I have over 80% of the achievements, there isn't much reason for me to do NG+, but I probably will at least get to chapter 6 so I can get all the logs (two logs you can only get on a second run through). I may or may not just watch the alternate secret ending online. I am getting the secret marker fragments in NG+ as I go just in case though. :p

The reason is that the gameplay is insanely addictive for me :joe:

I finally beat this on hard, getting all the logs, etc. that I could. Loved the game - reminded me of why I enjoyed the original trilogy so much. I have almost all the achievements, debating whether to continue a new game plus - I'm already on chapter 2 because there are some logs you can only get a second time around, so we'll see. One log I did pick up already hints at Dead Space 2 and EA Motive has hinted they may do it. Would be great to get a Dead Space 2 remake and maybe a Dead Space: Extraction remaster would be nice too. Really satisfied with this mid-remake (Crisis Core has been a great mid-remake too).

I'm already 4 hours deep into NG+. It's cathartic to rip Necros a new butthole with maxed out guns and suit now. It's just such a good game on every front, it's hard to want to play anything else.
