  1. I'm still pretty thoroughly addicted to Counter-Strike 2.
  2. HUGE mistake. It will ruin all other monitors for you that aren't OLED.
  3. The article says "more than 400 episodes", but I still laughed. I didn't realize this before but Waterston is 83 years old! I find it pretty impressive to still be so active in your career at that age; hopefully he has many good years ahead of him to enjoy his full retirement.
  4. Beautiful pup! How old, and how long have you had him?
  5. Yeah sounds like he needs to retire and continue to sink into his Fox News hellhole. Good for you for recognizing the issues there and doing something about it; that's huge!
  6. I was one of the people hired by a tech company during the COVID expansions. Just in my immediate team of around 15, in the last year and a half we've lost 4, and my company in general lost several thousand employees. I think the only reason we aren't (currently) going through more of that is because they haven't replaced those that left from the layoffs or just from regular attrition.
  7. Good for you for advocating for yourself. If you don't mind sharing, I'm curious: what made you realize that they may not have had your best interests at heart?
  8. See this is why I don't feel prepared to get into investing; my reading comprehension is dogshit when I'm tired.
  9. Fortunately I didn't have to do that, no. It's true that the included bracket doesn't let it get super far out from the wall, but I found it more than enough to get all of my cables plugged in. I can imagine if you didn't have very easy access to the sides of your TV it might be trickier.
  10. Working 12 hour days when you're salaried is horse shit.
  11. When I lived in North Carolina for a couple of years after college, I went up to DC once to visit my sister and we met up with @Commissar SFLUFAN for a drink and had a lovely time. To this day, if I ever mention the forums to my sister, she will occasionally bring up his name and say something like "it's still the best real name that sounds fake that I've ever heard." We met up roughly 15 years ago. It's the gift that keeps on giving, sir.
  12. Unless you mean that your particular setup would require a lot of shuffling things around or something, FWIW I have my G3 wall mounted and it was super easy. The TV includes the necessary bracket and a paper outline of the TV (so you can place it exactly where you want it). I just used a stud finder, a level, and a drill to get it mounted in about 15 minutes with the help of a friend. The TV is fucking legit.
  13. Yeah I commented to someone the other day that we were at -15 less than two weeks ago and that day I had taken my dog out in just jeans and a T-shirt. In Portland in January.
  14. The really galling thing to me is that if they had just said "we're raising the price of Prime by $18/year" (approx. ($2.99/month * 12 months)/2, to assume that roughly half the people using it don't use it enough to make ads necessary to offset their costs) I would have gladly paid it and not given it a second thought. Even if they raised the price of Prime by $36/year I possibly would have begrudgingly paid it. But adding in ads to a service I already am paying for really infuriates me.
  15. See this is why I don't feel prepared to get in to investing. The market thinks this is a bad idea, but my intuition would be that this buffoon having less power in the company would be a great thing.
  16. You guys are forgetting that if there is a UBI, that means that women, minorities, and other undesirables might be happy. And that is something the modern GOP just can not abide.
  17. Alright guys, enough with the derailment. Keep it on topic. I hid a bunch of posts, including the two from @gamer.tv and @TheLeon, in the interest of consistency, though those two made me chuckle.
  18. Jesus Christ, the AfD even met at a hotel near a lake to discuss their plans. Shades of Wannsee.
  19. It's always disappointing when a person lets their politics override not only common sense but their professional training.
