  1. I think for 2023 I would like to (in no particular order): Practice my German more frequently. Go running more regularly. Eat a bit healthier (I go out to eat too often). Read more books. Get back into meditation.
  2. I got myself a soundbar with surround sound speakers for my TV, as well as a 4k blu-ray player. I also received about $500 in cash.
  3. I wish I hadn't seen this, but unfortunately I know exactly the video you mean. What a shitstain.
  4. The suspect vaguely reminds me of Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.
  5. Apparently her parents signed over custody so that she could go on tour with him. Yikes.
  6. Pretty much just here and the D1P Discord. I do browse Reddit fairly regularly but post so rarely that even after having an account for over a decade, I have two karma, I believe.
  7. Mods can assign profile pics. It might be time for one of you to get Hello Kitty and one of you to get Rainbow Brite.
  8. All true, though I did specify ground beef. With ground beef, surface meat and bacteria gets mixed in with more interior meats, so undercooking it doesn't kill the bacteria throughout. Obviously it's not guaranteed to make someone sick, and I've eaten plenty of undercooked burgers in my life, but if it's really undercooked, I'll send it back. Food poisoning really sucks.
  9. Only a couple times, and it's only because of meats being dangerously undercooked. I'm not going to eat raw ground beef or raw chicken, but otherwise I'm probably going to just eat whatever and move on with my life.
  10. If I get married, I think I will also have no real preference. I'm the only male in even my extended family who would pass on the family name via the traditional route, so I guess if the woman I married didn't want to take my name, the name would be gone with me, in a sense. However, my last name is in the top 5 most-common names in the US so the name itself would definitely go on, even if they're not related to me.
  11. FWIW I don't think it's unreasonable to be cautious about throwing allegations around, especially where sbl didn't get the impression that the guy was a creep before. But I also think he probably did the right thing by believing the girl and firing his ass. I've talked to my two sisters, various girlfriends over the years, and many female friends about this kind of stuff, and the general pattern I've seen is that far too many men get away with this shitty behavior because they act one way in front of other men and act a completely different way in front of women they're targeting. So, IMO you did the right thing, @sblfilms. Way to look after your employee and be a good dude. Another successful humblebrag thread!
  12. Not sure if I should vote "Yes" to try and save Twitter or vote "No" to enjoy watching the site go supernova in dumbassery...
  13. Ha, yeah that's true if you actually go INTO the thread, but what I'm meaning is when you're looking at the subject lines on the main CEB page. So for example, just looking at the first thread with "Update" in the title, I see your thread on the attack on Pelosi's husband, and it still has "Update" in the thread title even though the title was changed on October 28th, 48 days ago. And I had to go back to page 1 of the thread to even find that information out via the title change timestamp.
  14. If I'm just getting old and forgetful or being too I'll STFU but.... Would anyone else be appreciative if we generally got in the habit of including a date when adding updates to a subject line so that we know when the breaking news/update happened? I've seen a couple threads that have had "UPDATE" in the thread title for quite a while and it throws me off every time.
  15. I've never played any of the Mass Effect games. Is it safe to read this thread without having anything spoiled? These are actually next on my "to play" list.
  16. I'd be fine with smoking still being allowed, but make it absurdly expensive, to offset the costs to society.
  17. Yeah, I guess the bread and butter "joke" of TDS is that people have really stupid beliefs, and I imagine that being told this over and over and over again kind of loses its appeal as you get older because... you're all too aware.
