Update: Senate shelves the BBB Act

All I know is that, the Democrats have wasted a lot of political capital the last 6 months on the reconciliation deal, only to have both that deal and infrastructure almost get scuttled. They are on the verge of being just as dumb and ineffective as the GOP congress from 2016-2018. I don't think they want to be compared to those losers! -

Even easier: Pump the room full of nitrogen gas. It will displace the oxygen and they will eventually pass out peacefully and without pain, and then die. EDIT: Your body doesn't sense a lack of oxygen, it senses the presence of carbon dioxide, which is why asphyxiation can be traumatic, from what I understand. Removing the oxygen from the space, but keeping nitrogen there will just cause the person to lose consciousness and succumb to lack of oxygen. -

I recently learned of (but not read) this book by a Holocaust survivor, on how to deal with shitty situations. If you are struggling on a personal level, this might be a good read. Man's Search for Meaning - Wikipedia EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG -

Taxing unrealized gains is dumb. A better idea would be to tax loans over a certain threshold, as that would alleviate a lot of the concern you leftists have with billionaires avoiding income and capital gains taxes. -
Baldwin is a limousine liberal who probably played a large role in the poor working conditions for the production crew, and was completely fine with bringing in scabs to shoot the film. Even if he is never criminally charged, I would think the family of the victim has a strong civil case against him - not only did he fire the gun that killed the cinematographer, but he was also a producer for the movie.

This reminds me of the time that Microsoft created a self evolving/learning AI, and within hours of it being "born" it became a holocaust denying white supremist. Microsoft’s neo-Nazi sexbot was a great lesson for makers of AI assistants WWW.TECHNOLOGYREVIEW.COM Yandex’s head of machine intelligence says Microsoft’s Tay showed how important it is to fix AI problems fast. Maybe that's just the natural order of things! Whether it is an AI or a group of otherwise politically ambivalent fleshbots, all roads lead to chudville.

In some European countries, tear gas pistols are sold that look and feel like real firearms that fire real bullets, but the barrel has obstructions in it that would prevent a bullet from travelling down it, and instead fire out a concentrated stream of tear gas. Maybe those should be used on movie sets instead?

It's super dumb that we base current year benefits on what was earned last year. Just allow everyone to use the benefit, and if they made too much, then they get the appropriate back charge when they do their taxes. -
We wanted to see our daughter's antibody levels, after she got COVID in June. 152 units/ml. I guess that's pretty high? So that's good. The paperwork said that <0.8 would indicate no prior infection and/or not vaccinated. So the fact that she is 151 units above that threshold makes me feel pretty confident she'll be protected for quite awhile.
