I went back and looked at the video of me beating that demo boss and I think I manage to parry him once but I did most of that fight without parrying at all. The parry window is not as generous as the one in God of War and you can probably make your life easier in this game if you master how to do it, but it's not required like Sekiro where if you don't master parrying, you ain't getting far in that game.

Did you play the second demo? They made the parry window a lot more generous in the 2nd demo and final release.

Can you beat this game without the parry? I beat the demo boss without parrying at all.

You can take down bosses a lot quicker if you parry and it seems there are a lot of attacks you can parry, so it's probably in your best interest to do so.

I mean if you can do it without then good on you I suppose. :p

I’m really surprised official dual boot Windows isn’t out yet, any word of that? Thankfully steamos ended up being more versatile than I had imagined and moonlight is giving me gamepass but it would still be a nice option to have.

Wait till the summer Microsoft show where they announce their joint deal with Valve including native game pass support for steam deck!

If I'm not familiar with this series, is it something I can jump right into?

Pretty much. While the games share an over arching universe they are mostly self contained stories. I've seen someone compare it to Amazing Spider-Man vs The Spectacular Spider-Man in a way. Same but separate. Maybe this is confusing to you so the answer to your question, "yes"

I've only played a handful of jrpg's over the years but I do enjoy turn based combat if that is what is provided here. I am looking for a great RPG and this has gotten a lot of praise.

The combat is not turn based. However, much like @stepee's thread you can get very granular on tuning the difficulty level of the combat of the game, like adjusting enemy attack power, enemy HP and increasing your own power (for instance) - This is only for the second game though, I guess they changed it for 3 which has only 3 choices. I know you didn't ask that but if you just want to cruise through the story you can put it on easy and it should be pretty easy.

Don’t call them JRPGs because it’s discriminatory. Oh why only white people? Fuck you. Dude can eat shit

Yeah, back in the 90s and early 2000s. I have no idea what it or San Diego are like now.

Someone is trying to make it a tourist destination because they have like 4 big hotels in a 2 block radius now or something. I haven't been there since the new hotel got built, I wonder where all the homeless people roam around to now.

San Diego and its surrounding cities like Oceanside (where I also lived) are some of the nicest in Southern California IMO especially if you like beach type communities.

You must have lived in Oceanside long ago because I would never want to live or visit there. :p
