Hi, it’s me, the structural inequality baked into our political economy. You may remember me from classic hits such as “redlining”, “segregation”, and “generational poverty”. Now, my roles may seem antiquated, but nothing has been done to alleviate these issues since they’ve been legally abolished, so I’m still surviving on my residuals.

Anyone else read this in Phil Hartman’s voice?

Rational, sane, voters?  We can dream can't we?

I get it, but I think he just means it would have to be up more thorough campaign. He should definitely run on his accomplishments like infrastructure, target climate and student loans and pro LGBTQ legislation to young voters, whatever else in their Arsenal.

The funny thing about this post is if you “float here on a door”, you likely come from Cuba which would entitle you to legal status if you got here without the coast guard picking you up. But the large migrant crossing you hear about are largely processed through legal channels.

    “Pretty cut and dry.”

And yet the anger at the border is anger over legal immigration. There’s nothing sneaky about telling reporters on your march toward America that you hope for a better life there.

Asylum seeking is legal. And Trump killed a border bill Biden was ready to sign.

IDK, my pockets and 401K were much fatter when Trump was in office compared to any other recent presidents.....just my two cents. Still prefer poor to dictatorship though lol

Interesting. My 401K has always been doing good under Obama, the economy to which Trump rode into office. With Trump, my tax returns went from $1 to $2 after his tax cuts for rich people, whereas now they're 4 figures after tax credits attributable to the Inflation Reduction Act.

Plus the high interest yield on my savings, which has led to a considerable amount more money than under Trump.

What did Trump even do besides sign one bill that benefitted the rich? An insurrection when he got emotional after losing? I don't remember more jobs being created under him, either.

no pact but hes probably putting stuff in their drinks to deteriorate and ruin their health

At this point in the “election cycle” even if she stepped down confirming a replacement would be quite a circus

Democrats have no reason not to confirm a replacement if she stepped down or if Thomas/Alito croaked, circus or not. And as long as they're confirmed, it can be as much a circus as it wants to be.

I didn't like Fort Condor in this either. It was originally the (one) mini game in the Yuffie DLC and I enjoyed it a lot more in that. I'm not sure if this is the difference, but in the encounters in this one, the time limit felt far too short and arbitrary. I lost so many rounds down to the seconds because of the clock while I hacked away at the final base. The timer just made it all feel arbitrary and frustrating. Also, the fact that the timer didn't pause when you open the menu felt really dumb too.

As I said, I can't recall if the previous one had a timer or not, but if it did, it was much more lax.

There was a timer, and if you didn't defeat them inside that time frame, it went to sudden death where the first person to destroy an opponent's building would win.

A federal appeals court upheld a lower court's ruling that part of Florida's anti-"woke" law infringes on the free speech rights of employers.

"The government cannot favor some viewpoints over others without inviting First Amendment scrutiny," the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals said in its ruling Monday.

The challenge to DeSantis' "Stop WOKE Act" was brought by two Florida-based employers who wanted to require diversity and inclusion training for staff and a consultant. The businesses are represented by Protect Democracy, which describes itself as a "nonpartisan, anti-authoritarianism group."

    Quote

US District Judge Mark Walker called the law "positively dystopian." A DeSantis spokesperson said at the time the appeal "is ongoing, and we remain confident that the law is constitutional."
