New laws free up nearly $80 million in construction aid.Quote- Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers signed bipartisan bills Wednesday designed to jump-start creation of an electric vehicle charging network along the state's interstate system and major highways
- The new laws free up nearly $80 million in federal construction aid and makes it easier for gas stations, convenience stores and other businesses to operate the electric vehicle charging stations
- The funding is designed to support Level 3 charging stations, which will allow for passenger electric vehicles to be recharged in less than an hour

I'd still be careful on posting even mild spoilers for now. The Rude thing isn't a huge deal, but I'm trying to avoid anything story-related.
I'm finished with the side stuff in the Junon area. One thing I thought was interesting was
SpoilerI thought I recognized the "King" in the Condor side quests, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Once that final cutscene plays with the Clash on the Big Bridge, it hit me. I never played 5 front to back or his boss battle in 12, so I only modestly know about Gilgamesh.
Also, the piano side thing is actually kind of fun! And it provides a really beautiful version of classic tunes, as well.

I got three hours under my belt yesterday after coming back from vacation. Haven't hit Junon, but I did a bunch of side stuff to get the really good materia you can develop in the region.

Trump Threatens 100% Tariffs on Chinese Cars Made in Mexico
WWW.BLOOMBERG.COM
Donald Trump said he would hit cars made in Mexico by Chinese companies with a 100% tariff, double the levy he has previously said he would put on automobiles made south of the US border.
I don’t know if this would get the traction you think it would. These positions were pretty popular for American factory workers — putting tariffs on foreign made goods — and I don’t know how much tariffs are on other people’s minds to begin with.If I post this on my feed, it won’t get many eyes. Then again, it’ll probably be weird to switch from engagement photos to tariffs. 😬

‘Helldivers 2’ Is a Surprise Hit for Sony in an Oversaturated Market
WWW.BLOOMBERG.COM
On Steam, the cooperative third-person shooter hit a peak of more than 450,000 concurrent playersQuoteWhile the much-hyped Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Warner Bros Discovery Inc.’s gaming division bombed even harder than the films that preceded it, the little-known Helldivers 2, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, is on track to be one of the year’s biggest games.
To date, neither has revealed sales numbers, but on Steam, Helldivers 2 hit a peak of more than 450,000 concurrent players, while Suicide Squad’s all-time high is less than 13,500, per SteamDB.
QuoteTD Cowen analyst Doug Creutz estimated that Helldivers 2 has sold more than 8 million copies, and most remarkably, the numbers are growing every week. “We believe the game has performed well ahead of expectations,” Creutz wrote in a note Thursday.
The main takeaway here may be that nobody knows what will hit. I enjoyed the first Helldivers when it came out in 2015, but part of the appeal was that it was an unusual genre — a twin-stick, top-down shooter with clunky but endearing controls. When I saw the premiere of Helldivers 2 last year, I thought it looked like another generic clone of Gears of War and that it would be dead on arrival.

Nope will be waiting for you anyway.
I've liked all his films, but I was more impressed with his first two.

If you’re explaining you’re losing.
Republicans have been explaining to me why there was a perfectly reasonable explanation for losing just about every election year since 2017.- 1

I would say that less taxes, smaller government, desiring a strong military, being tougher on crime and favoring pure meritocracy over government mandated equality are the base pillars of a sane Republican Party and not some sort of crazy viewpoint. Not necessarily one I agree with, but we need people in power pulling in that direction too so we can land somewhere sane in the middle. The problem is that those are no longer the pillars and the entire party has gone completely batshit crazy.
The irony being Buck was considered too outside the mainstream when he ran for U.S. Senate in 2010 and lost to Michael Bennett. And he is.

Hi, it’s me, the structural inequality baked into our political economy. You may remember me from classic hits such as “redlining”, “segregation”, and “generational poverty”. Now, my roles may seem antiquated, but nothing has been done to alleviate these issues since they’ve been legally abolished, so I’m still surviving on my residuals.
Anyone else read this in Phil Hartman’s voice?- 1

I get it, but I think he just means it would have to be up more thorough campaign. He should definitely run on his accomplishments like infrastructure, target climate and student loans and pro LGBTQ legislation to young voters, whatever else in their Arsenal. -
I can’t play much of this until I get back from vacation, but I’ve been enjoying the reactions! Only chance I really have is at the end of the day via Backbone, assuming the Wi-Fi is good enough.

I’m thrilled for Nolan. And my fiancé is a huge Cillian Murphy fan and lit up when I told her he won.

The funny thing about this post is if you “float here on a door”, you likely come from Cuba which would entitle you to legal status if you got here without the coast guard picking you up. But the large migrant crossing you hear about are largely processed through legal channels.
“Pretty cut and dry.”
And yet the anger at the border is anger over legal immigration. There’s nothing sneaky about telling reporters on your march toward America that you hope for a better life there.
Asylum seeking is legal. And Trump killed a border bill Biden was ready to sign.

Interesting. My 401K has always been doing good under Obama, the economy to which Trump rode into office. With Trump, my tax returns went from $1 to $2 after his tax cuts for rich people, whereas now they're 4 figures after tax credits attributable to the Inflation Reduction Act.
Plus the high interest yield on my savings, which has led to a considerable amount more money than under Trump.
What did Trump even do besides sign one bill that benefitted the rich? An insurrection when he got emotional after losing? I don't remember more jobs being created under him, either.
