Both you and her will probably enjoy it.

I have the first one on PS+; I should get to playing that at some point because this seems like a series of games I'd dig.

I have a Tempur-Pedic that I really love and lasts. We do have MyPillow on our bed, and I think they're good, but nothing really stuck out as being elite?
So it'll be easy for us not to get any more MyPillows. I informed her that BBB and Kohl's stopped carrying them and about the QAnon discount code, and she goes, "No fucking way."

Viewers' guide to Biden's Inauguration Day: Everything you need to know
WWW.NBCNEWS.COMThe theme is "America United," but Covid-19 and the specter of domestic terrorism are casting shadows over the event. Here's what you need to know:
QuoteWhat's happening Wednesday?
In broad strokes, Biden and Kamala Harris will be sworn in as president and vice president shortly after noon ET, and Biden will deliver his first presidential address to the country. At night, he is forgoing the traditional inaugural balls because of the pandemic, and he will instead take part in a television event called "Celebrating America."Who will — and won't — be in attendance?
As was the case with previous inaugurations, most of Congress and the Supreme Court are expected to be in attendance, as are some former presidents. Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton are all set to attend, as are former first ladies Michelle Obama, Laura Bush and Hillary Clinton. Jimmy Carter, the country's oldest living former president, at 96, and former first lady Rosalynn Carter will not be there, but they sent their "best wishes." The inauguration is the first they have missed since Carter was sworn in in 1977.Also absent will be Trump, making him the first president to skip his successor's inauguration since Andrew Johnson in 1869. Vice President Mike Pence will attend.
What's the schedule for the swearing-in?
The exact start time hasn't been announced, but the event is expected to begin around 11 a.m. ET at the West Front of the Capitol. Here's a look at other transfers of power before this turd of a president:

Kohl's also dropped him.

Soon this thread will be no more.
Puts a tear in one's eye.

I’ll get to that one some day!
I've had an itch to return to that world, and while I'm playing a lot of next gen stuff currently, I might finally give in and start a new game. It's one of those games where "dicking around" still feels like you're doing something relevant to the story. And I don't even mind just roaming around doing random stuff in open-world games.

I didn't even know the first time that if you attack his ankles enough, he falls and his head is super vulnerable. That never happened my first time; I just attacked one of his ankles repeatedly until he died.
Then the second time, I used magic on his back, thinking that was the trick, but I still didn't understand that hitting his ankles made it easy. -

I would honestly avoid boss strategies as much as you can. With a couple exceptions, many of the bosses you can hide from and try to figure out, including the Tower Knight, by looking at his patterns.
For many of the bosses in Demon's Souls specifically, there is a much easier way to take them down than their appearance would indicate.

https://rhg.com/research/preliminary-us-emissions-2020/
2020, as we know and as these preliminary numbers show, was a different year due to the pandemic. But even despite that, we've seen an indisputable trend down since 08/09.
This coincides with a drop in coal usage and in increase in renewables and natural gas.
If it weren't for COVID/economic distress, we still would have seen a reduction in carbon emissions.
QuoteUnfortunately, 2020 tells us little about what we can expect to see in 2021 and beyond. It certainly shouldn’t be considered a down payment toward meeting the 2025 US target under the Paris Agreement of 26-28% below 2005 levels. The enormous toll of economic damage and human suffering as a result of the pandemic is no cause for celebration. The vast majority of 2020’s emission reductions were due to decreased economic activity and not from any structural changes that would deliver lasting reductions in the carbon intensity of our economy. If COVID-19 and the resulting recession hadn’t happened, we estimate that US emissions would have declined by only around 3% this year, driven in large part by the decline of coal-fired power generation and to a lesser extent the reduction in heating demand due to warmer winter weather. With growth expected to bounce back in 2021 (most forecasts currently project GDP growth of 3 to 4%), emissions will likely increase as well absent a concerted effort.
Well said on human suffering. Obviously, it's great that carbon emissions dropped, but doing this without the suffering/mental anguish of people is the goal.
I'm feeling more hopeful under Biden, actually, based on some early moves of his.

I remember this guy! Let's see how he's doing:

Less than 15 minutes, but I gotta say, if anyone listened to his interview back in 2019 when he was blocked by a porn star, he truly believed he was entitled to 10/10 women that he could fuck repeatedly over and over and called the porn star a "clout chaser" since he thought he was famous.
too short, didn't read: he had nothing to capitalize on and had a stroke and I'm the only one who remembers him.

I’m on 1-2 and the bridge is just kicking my ass. With all the archers and the knight that charges you. The dragon at your back. I made it once past the archers and the 2nd knight. I then forgot to eat some health, got up the stairs and got hit with an arrow and died. I wanted to throw my controller through my tv. What am I doing wrong here?
I absolutely love the atmosphere of this game. The gameplay is really good. I really love the story and basically non-existent dialogue or frequent cut scenes. The environment really does such a good job of telling the story (kinda reminds me of ICO/SOTC in that regard). The sound is fantastic. It truly feels like a next-gen game.
but...I cannot deal with punishment factor. Having to constantly run back is just ruining it for me. I really don’t know how you guys can stick with it and not get both completely frustrated and bored. This game is all about repetition. Being someone who has never replayed a game in my life once I’ve beaten it, I think this is where the game is going to lose me.
Umbasa.
Okay, even as someone who played a couple Souls games prior to this, 1-2 felt like a big spike in difficulty compared to 1-1. The beginning of the game felt harsh for me, and I found myself farming a bit and felt I was going backward, but it's not as hard as it looks. It's hard, but not that hard to the point where you'll be farming all the time. Here are some tips:
- There are times when you can avoid a powerful enemy. As said in another post, there's an alternate route you can use to avoid at least one of the bridges. And if you helped that guy in 1-1, you can help him again in 1-2, and he can take out some ground enemies for you.
-
There are five archstones. You're on 1-2, but the way they all work, each stage of a world is harder than the previous. 1-1/2-1/3-1/4-1/5-1 are the easiest of theirs, and then X-2 is harder. So you don't HAVE to try 1-2 right now. See how you feel about 2-1. Or 3-1.
- On that note, if the dragon were dead, it might be easier for you. So maybe don't bother with him yet.
-
Each world has its own dangers, so the most beneficial armor for you may change depending on the world you're in. AND how hard a world is may depend on what your build is. If you're a magician, you're gonna one of the worlds easier and better for you than others. If you're a melee character with piercing weapons, you'll likely find another world much easier.
- Each world also has its own benefits -- its own people you can rescue who may be VERY helpful, item drops that work better for certain characters (if you're having time finding spice, maybe another world has more of it, for example), etc.
- If you want a way to get a feel for the level without risking your souls, maybe plop down a blue eye stone marker and wait for someone to summon you for help. It'll give you the opportunity to co-op, to learn the enemies' attacks, and find shortcuts from good players.
- Don't feel frustrated. EXPECT to die. It's okay! As hopeless as it can feel, you will never get yourself to a point where it's impossible to beat the game. The game isn't cheap, so you'll never feel like you're hopefully outnumbered because it's meticulous with its enemy placement and level design.

Biden agenda of executive actions on Day 1 to address immigration, climate and pandemic
WWW.LATIMES.COMIn his first hours as president, Joe Biden plans to take executive action to roll back some decisions of his predecessor and to address the pandemic.QuoteThe opening salvo would herald a 10-day blitz of executive actions as Biden seeks to act swiftly to redirect the country in the wake of Donald Trump’s presidency without waiting for Congress.
On Wednesday, following his inauguration, Biden will end Trump’s restriction on immigration to the U.S. from some Muslim-majority countries, move to rejoin the Paris climate accord and mandate mask wearing on federal property and during interstate travel. Those are among roughly a dozen actions Biden will take on his first day in the White House, his incoming chief of staff, Ron Klain, said in a memo to senior staff.
QuoteThe next day, Thursday, Klain said Biden would sign orders related to the COVID-19 outbreak aimed at reopening schools and businesses and expanding virus testing. The following day, Friday, will see action on providing economic relief to those suffering the economic costs of the pandemic.
In the following week, Klain said, Biden would take additional actions relating to criminal justice reform, climate change and immigration — including a directive to speed the reuniting of families separated at the U.S.-Mexico border under Trump’s policies.

Trump was never popular, but he's leaving office really unpopular now.

This also matches the kind of anger from previously nice people that I've witnessed:
QuoteTYLER: When Joe Biden was confirmed president, I texted him. And I was intending to be good-natured, but I texted him, you're not going to be a little crybaby snowflake, are you? (Laughter) And he just texted me back [expletive] off. And, like, he's never said that to me before.
I feel like I had an argument with @Alpha1Cowboy about how the craziness was always there, while he said it's skyrocketed. I take back what I said as I've seen one too many previously normal conservatives go batshit crazy since QAnon became a thing.

Yes I do believe there is a direct relationship between COVID the civil unrest this country has had over the past year. It wouldn't surprise me if it also accelerated the spread of right wing extremism. Having too much time on your hands + stress can be a potent mix.
The problem though is once it is in place it is unlikely to go away very easily.I was listening to an NPR story where they found a subreddit of QAnon stories, people whose family members went off the deep end. One of the constants was the lockdown because they had so much time on their hands.
QuoteUNIDENTIFIED PERSON: You know, she slowly crept into it during the Trump administration, but especially with lockdown.
CORNISH: Their parents stuck at home with a lot of time on their hands, Web surfing deeper into QAnon specifically.
TYLER: He gets home from work, and he puts his earbuds in, and he watches these videos on his iPad until it's time to go to bed.
UNIDENTIFIED PERSON: She's spending 16 to 18 hours a day consuming this.
CORNISH: And the result of all this is a detachment from the facts.
ANNIE: It just very quickly became clear that she, like, did not think that Joe Biden won the election.
