Remember when Utah's governor asked people to pray for rain?

Utah Gov. Spencer Cox posted a series of tweets in response to comments about his call to pray for rain, starting by writing that Utah — along with most of the West — “is experiencing its worst drought since 1956.”

Well, two years later we got more snow than we had in like forty years or something. And the GSL went above its 2022 low. Checkmate atheists.

    These are the correct takes.

Came in here to say that I cannot believe that I think it would be better if he stayed on in the current climate. The fact that Mitch fucking McConnell is one of the "good" (using that term extremely loosely) Republicans is just a fucking nightmare.

Maksim Kuzminov flew a Russian miltary helicopter to Ukraine. Armed with a new identity, he moved to a Spanish resort. Then he was killed in an underground car park

just don’t be like this guy

    Unbelievably naive.

  4. I cannot tell what the story of this movie is. Also the score is horrifically generic. Like absolutely disgusting and offensively so. The cast looks great, though.

I don't watch Yellowstone but I do think it's a super dick move of him to leave the show midway through season 5 when the show was always planned to just be 6 seasons. He could have easily finished the show and then made this but instead chose to screw over the cast, crew and fans of Yellowstone instead.

I'm saying this just based on clips I've seen and the general vibe I get of the fanbase, but nothing of value was lost. :p But I do sympathize with the cast and crew.

I imagine how much you'll enjoy this will depend on how much you enjoyed Costner's three previous directorial efforts Dances with Wolves, The Postman and Open Range (all three of which he also starred in, as is the case here). Or how much you enjoyed projects he starred in that he was also heavily involved in shepherding like Wyatt Earp, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, Waterworld or Thirteen Days despite not writing or directing them.

Well, his directorial track record appears pretty good so that's a plus. I remember really liking Open Range but I haven't seen it since I worked at the video store as a teenager around its release date.

It's hilarious but just imagine walking in with your family and seeing this shit? Who am I kidding, I'd burst out laughing immediately.  😆

In fact I'd commend those that put this up.

I've actually had a similar experience.

★☆☆☆☆ "My kids had a good time. There are some interesting things here but the price of entry is outrageous. $100 for four people. It’s two rooms with some water colors, crayons, and chalk at various stations. Some tablets with some games. A giant Lite Brite. Print your choice of text on a crayon paper. A sandbox. There were other attractions there but they cost extra and I wasn’t about to give this place any more...

If he really wanted to, he could challenge that law in front of SCOTUS to determine whether it's even constitutional to begin with.

There are other ways he could undermine NATO through non-participation in Alliance activities or not funding the US share that are short of outright leaving.

This is more what I was alluding to. Basically all the ways that count: Spending decreases, non-participation, not honoring the agreement should it come to it, etc.

They've cancelled school for my kids, because the school board feels that it would be unsafe for the kids to walk home from school during an eclipse.

I've got some eclipse viewing glasses on order, so we can all experience it again.

[We watched the partial eclipse together back in 2017, but its been a while.]

I agree with that. We had an eclipse here in Salt Lake a couple months ago and it got extremely dark in a moment's notice.

  8. Nah that piece goes way too hard. I feel some people won't be happy unless Stewart dedicates a segment of his time to propping up Biden. That's never been his show nor his style. The criticisms he offered of Biden in his first show back were and are valid. He also clearly laid out the differences between the criticisms people make of both Biden and Trump and why the choice is obvious. If anything, he's educating the uninitiated on the republican strategy and talking points and why they're weak shit.

Also, people shouldn't treat the situation like Stewart's humor and insight alone are going to save us from Trump.

    ETA

Actually all we need to do is read this line from that piece:

    Quote

He knows that America’s moral and political decline is a tragedy. He just won't say so out loud.

Is that a fucking joke? This author isn't listening to anything Stewart is actually saying. They're only looking for things they want him to say.
