aint nobody wanting to go to the dmv for this.  i have a passport and will gladly take that instead of having to deal with dmv

I'm not dragging my passport around while traveling if I don't have to, that's a good way to lose your passport.

yeah fuck having to go to dmv for it. that’s the only reason i haven’t done it lol.

My previous license expired August 2020 and originally I'd planned on getting the RealID at the renewal since the timing lined up nicely with the old October 2020 deadline anyhow. Then decided to just renew online so I didn't have to go into a DMV and then double-pay on a RealID if I needed to. But an insert in the envelope my registration renewal notice made it sound like you can switch to a RealID without having to pay a second time if you're switching to a RealID out of sync with your renewal.

I renewed my DL last fall, and got the Real ID. I was expecting it to be a hassle, like I didn’t bring enough documents or something, but I was in and out in like 5 minutes.

wut how did you get a RealID without going to the DMV the first time

Bollards there are meant to rise between 7.30am and 6.30pm, only being lowered for emergency vehicles and other vehicles with permitted access, but have been broken for ‘about four years’.

I'm not a huge fan of the new iMacs, and from my perspective they made some questionable trade-offs.

A lack of ports is a common issue with Apple, but going down to two USB 4/TB ports on the base model is a bummer. A lot of basic desktop accessories are still using USB A, and losing those ports is a bummer. As someone that typically uses the 3.5mm jack for speakers, having it on the side would annoy me.

I do think they mostly look good, but I'd much rather they be a bit thicker and lose the bezels. Apple obviously disagrees, but I think they'd still be striking computers at double the thickness but just being pure screen.

Of course, these computers are not meant for me.

Apparently the new iMacs also can't be put into target display mode? Which is a shame since they have good displays and being able to repurpose them as additional monitors is a good way to keep them out of landfills, especially seeing as they're entirely non-user-upgradeable now.

I saw someone on Reddit say they have or will shelve their porter and stout as well, so I think they are doing a pretty extensive brand purge. Which is sad but I get it, because the market is just too saturated to carry dead weight in your portfolio, at least in terms of national/regional distribution.

Can't buy what you don't see in stores, can't remember the last time I saw Sierra's porter or stout on a shelf.
