  1. We have friends that live about 20 minutes away from us. Their son is in middle school. A 15 year old student at that school just brought a loaded gun to school in his backpack. Not a lot of details about how it was discovered. My wife’s friend has been having panic attacks since the notice went out. Wants to pull her kid out of school but doesn’t. This shit makes life so hard for everybody Loaded gun found in middle school student's backpack WWW.WGAL.COM The weapon was never displayed, and no threats were made, according to the Cumberland Valley superintendent.
  2. For some reason I thought since bluesky just opened to the public, they would put some effort into giving you a positive first time experience. They definitely succeeded at making Twitter again.
  3. It’s weird. It looks so much like Splatoon that I had wanted to run around painting the floor, but I don’t think there is any benefit to doing that other than being able to increase your traversal speed so you can surf around. Then when you encounter an enemy, everyone is just kind of clustered around together since it’s only 4v4. It just felt messy and nothing really packed a punch. I’m going to try it again tonight and see if I change my mind at all. I remember Splatoon had gripped me from my first match I played. Foamstars definitely didn’t give me that first impression.
  4. Anyone try it yet? My son and I give it a big thumbs down. The tutorial is the first thing that annoys you. You want to just skip through it as fast as possible but you can’t. “Here’s how you walk”, “This is how you shoot”, etc… Finally got into a 4v4 match and everything just feels weightless. Maybe there is more skill to it if you put the time in. But I just don’t think it feels good to battle other players. My son played a round and said “eww uninstall that”.
  5. Ok my wife and I just signed up. I went through the process and picked the topics that interested me. Takes me to a homepage or whatever and the first two posts I’m seeing are some nobody’s whining how they “as a blue sky elder” should have had a say in making bluesky open to everyone. My wife signed up and the first post she saw was a post asking “what is an orgasm?” And the answer was “when you draw a bird on a piece of paper and fold it in half”. Neither of us plan to ever use bluesky again.
  6. I feel like from the start, MS would know how many gamers they would be losing by making all these games exclusive to one console. The generation already started. Millions of people were already in the PlayStation ecosystem. Maybe this was the plan from the start. Get a years worth of news headlines saying all these games are exclusive to Xbox. Then transition people to the idea that they are timed exclusives. Capitalize on all of the gamers and YouTube/Twitch streamers that want to have the games day one exclusive on Xbox. Fear of missing out and such. Then when the game is old and forgotten about months later, you get the PS release to boost sales numbers and get everybody talking about the game again. Marketing wise the game gets to have 2 releases to pop up in the news. Could be worth their billions that they spent.
  7. I was probably the right age for Hey Arnold! when that came out so yeah, this commercial was just perfect and hilarious to me. Watched it multiple times, kids thought it was hilarious and are now quoting “throw the child” every chance they get.
  8. I think this is the 3rd news headline I’ve seen about a small plane going down in the last few weeks.
  9. I think the other reason I gave up on physical are the day one patches. You buy a disc and still end up downloading the whole game anyway.
  10. I can only go by my experience as a parent. My kids are almost 10 and 12 years old. They have grown up with almost everything being digital in my house. They are so used to us just buying everything online and it just appearing at the front door. I’ve taken them to Gamestop a couple times and it doesn’t excite them. They almost act confused like why do we have to drive here and walk around just to buy a game. 10 years ago I was all physical media and always thought that I would be. Digital gaming just crept into my life and took over. Covid probably accelerated more people into just buying everything online, along with all the YouTube reviews and unboxing videos. I’m going to be sad to see it all change but it’s probably overdue
  11. Another site shared some of the details of the video: “During his rant, the son said many saw him as the messiah, and wanted him as president, along with urging relatives living with federal employees to murder them. He blamed the federal government for ‘woke mobs’ and migrants he claims are destroying the United States, while also rallying against ‘globalists and communists’. The 14 minute video, appeared to be filmed in a bedroom, was posted circa Tuesday, 5.30 pm- remaining on YouTube for six hours, over 5,000 views, before eventually being taken down. Graphic footage showed Mohn holding up his father’s head in a bloodied plastic bag, saying: ‘Violence is the only solution to the federal government’s treason.’ Continued the son: ‘This is the head of Mike Mohn, a federal employee of over 20 years and my father. He is now in hell for eternity as a traitor to his country.’” The rabbit hole these people fall down…
  12. Love him or hate him, I am very interested to see what becomes of this person that got the implant. It could help a lot of people…or go totally sideways and be a train wreck. Either way I’m in!
  13. I shook my head so hard when the Lions didn’t go for that field goal instead of the failed 4th down conversion. They ended up getting a touchdown later on. The game would have been tied.
  14. From a totally uneducated point of view on this subject, would fentanyl be a good choice for the death penalty? If we have to poison people to death, seems like they could pick something with a better track record.
  15. Honestly you could throw in any non compatible usb cable and it wouldn’t matter. Someone will open it to see a controller and cable, hit the check box to say it was received, then it will be getting shuffled around for who knows how long. Might even just end up in a lot of broken/returned items and sold for pennies.
  16. I don’t think they are that picky. Just throw it in whatever box you have left. Nobody at Amazon is going to test it.
  17. Ehh I don’t know. I’ll wait to hear what you all think.
  18. Many years ago I remember downloading the Pirates movie that she was in. Thought she was hot as hell.
  19. Great job putting in all the effort that you have. One positive side was that if you had to get stuck with an addiction, at least this one didn’t destroy your body’s health in the long run or lead to death like a drug addiction. You can continue to grow and better yourself. It’s scary how easily an addiction can creep into your life and take over. I’ve been alcohol free since April of last year. Drinking never felt like a problem for me because I always kept it to one or two drinks a night. But I developed this habit of having a late night drink that would lead to binge eating every night. I wouldn’t be that hungry during the day, wouldnt eat on any schedule, and then just go crazy at night. Lots of unhealthy food, a drink, pass out, then wake up and feel like shit every morning. Then every night I just craved that experience all over again. Took me a while to realize this a real problem. It’s not a normal way to live. I made little changes over the months which eventually added up to a real lifestyle change. I just never thought I would lose control like that.
