The cheapest rear-wheel drive model won’t be available until 2025, with a price starting at $60,990 (before applying discounts), while a top-of-the-line “Cyberbeast” has a $99,990 price and estimated 320 miles of range.

Tesla Autopilot crashes on cross traffic - The Washington Post
WWW.WASHINGTONPOST.COM
A Post analysis reveals that people have died or been gravely injured in crashes where Tesla’s software should not have been enabled in the first place.Pretty damning story about Autopilot's ability to work on backroads where there aren't obvious lane markings, and the government's ability or willingness to do anything about it.

I'm guessing he reinstated his account, because that was the speculation out there for the past few days.

Honestly, I hope whoever is left working on the dev team at Twitter are true believers in whatever Elon's mission is supposed to be, because you just know that when he demands something like this be put in place he's sending out mass emails every five minutes like

I kind of hate the 12 team format the more I think about it, because it means that a lot of the late season rivalry games that are usually absolutely seismic in importance, like most recent OSU-Michigan games, kind of don't matter as much, and might not even be the only time the two teams play each other in the same season. That said, putting Bama in over an undefeated FSU in a 4 team playoff is absurd and I guess you might as well expand the field as much as possible if you can't trust them not to do shit like this.

Ceasefire's over, apparently.

I don't think I've ever seen one of these state-by-state maps that I haven't been at least a little bit skeptical of.

They're also selling a range extender that brings the battery range up to about what it was supposed to be when they first announced this thing, but it means that you have even less space in the bed which, if that one picture from a couple of weeks ago can be believed, already struggles to fit a bike properly.
The Tesla Cybertruck's Range Extender Is Something Very Different

A bed-mounted optional range extender battery will add 130+ miles to the Cybertruck All-Wheel Drive and 120+ miles to the tri-motor Cyberbeast. -
Yeah, I deleted it off my phone and I'm keeping myself logged off on my PC. I've found enough accounts on Bluesky of people I followed on Twitter who have switched over at least part time that it's good enough without any of the baggage. I made exactly one allowance for myself to log back in briefly, and that was to get as much Kissinger is Dead content last night as possible.

Is it normal to have a "release event" for a product at which you announce that the product is actually going to be released in another 1 to 2 years?

People gotta just stop writing up headlines of stuff Musk says he's gonna do. Remember when he was gonna get rid of blocking for non-paid X users? That never happened.

I went to TikTok last night for my first time ever after I read the Bid Laden story. I wanted to see how so many young Americans are getting their news. I couldn't find any 'news' to speak of. It was nothing but short videos of pure stupidity. If i really wanted to learn how they get their news, I would lose IQ points.
If you click through to that Pew Research poll it also shows an increase in people getting their "news" from Nextdoor, and the news on there is like, "I saw a black guy by my house"

Like, yeah, theoretically a lot of this is unconstitutional, but one thing that should be pretty obvious at this point about how a second Trump term would go is that he's not gonna listen to anyone recommending relatively conventional choices for any position that he gets to appoint this time and he's going to surround himself with complete sycophants. And that's going to extend to whatever judges he gets to appoint, plus all of the various legal council positions.

QuoteRandy Renstrom· 54m@randyrenstrom.bsky.socialGreat news in Johnston, IA. Three current school board members are connected to "Moms for Liberty" and the right-wing organization only needed to win one seat tonight to gain full control of the school board. They lost all four seats, setting up a progressive majority instead.

New York is getting another crack at a gerrymander that would be in effect for 2024.

If you're an old salty basketball coach who believes the game was better when the 3-point line didn't exist, you're still gonna have your team shoot 3s so long as the line is there.
Gerrymandering shouldn't be allowed, but the way to get rid of it is through national legislation, something that the Democrats tried to pass and had it blocked by Republicans. As long as gerrymandering exists you should absolutely maximally gerrymander every state where your party has control.
