  1. The clock is ticking on Trump being able to wriggle his way out of the jam this time

The New York attorney general’s office has filed judgments in Westchester County, the first indication that the state is preparing to try to seize Donald Trump’s golf course and private estate north of Manhattan, known as Seven Springs.

  2. I tried one once to try and improve a dead spot on our upper floor with our old router and it didn't help much. Had much better results once we just upgraded the router itself. Since your router is pretty new, you might have better results, but I have also heard pretty mixed things from professional reviewers about them.

Former President Donald Trump attended a hearing Thursday in the case over his alleged mishandling of classified documents. Follow here for the latest live news updates.

People who seem to know what they're talking about on BlueSly are saying that this might actually be bad news, because there's a bit in the ruling where Cannon says she reserves the right to dismiss the case after a jury gets seated, and if she does that apparently the ruling might be unappealable? It's fuckin exhausting learning about all this shit, man.

  4. To me this just means they're gonna run back what they were trying to do in 2020, meaning declare victory at a point where they have the lead in most swing states because the in person votes are being put into the count faster than the mail-in votes, and then start pumping out lawsuits trying to get in-home ballots thrown out.

Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has confirmed that among his potential vice-presidential prospects is New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who in private conversations shared deranged conspiracy theories about the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting not being real.

The New York governor's supporters say the specter of National Guard troops checking bags will make New Yorkers feel safer, but activists say it’s just a militarized version of stop-and-frisk.

Wild to basically just say in plain terms "we're doing this to feed a moral panic."

At least 20 people have died due to malnutrition and dehydration since the war began in Gaza, including a 15-year-old boy who was declared dead at the Al-Shifa medical complex on Wednesday, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza said.

Anwar Abdul Nabi perches on the edge of a bed at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza. Her eyes are sunken with grief.

Things were plenty grim already, but it seems like there's a shift happening from "general warnings about food insecurity" to "actual deaths directly attributable to starvation" happening

  8. A huge fuckin' weirdo won the primary for Governor in North Carolina

North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will win the Republican nomination for governor, CNN projects, setting up a general election campaign in the Tar Heel State that could mirror the anticipated presidential matchup in a crucial 2024 battleground.

    Quote

Robinson, in social media posts, downplayed the atrocities of Nazi Germany and argued that socialism was – and should have always been – a greater concern than European fascism.

“We often speak of the ‘appeasement’ of Hitler. But the biggest ‘appeasement’ of ALL TIME is how we turned a blind eye to the clear and present danger of MARXISM,” he wrote in 2019.

  9. If you just read a bunch of stuff about climate tech, it seems like there really is a lot of good progress being made a lot of fronts and you can kind of trick yourself into being a little optimistic for a while. But then you read stuff like this, and there's just so, so, so much damage already completely baked in, even if there was the political will and ability to roll about a bunch of fancy new tech on a worldwide scale as fast as possible.
