  1. I'd like to get one at some point, their just pricy. Oddly, my big reason for wanting one is so I can put a grid test pattern on my screen as I'd like to make some adjustments to the display.
  2. Ordered new wheels and tires for my car. Now I'm watching Star Wars on Laserdisc.
  3. Steve Schmidt announced he was leaving the Republican party too a few days ago citing it to be the party of Trump. He's now an independent aligned with the Democratic party. https://mobile.nytimes.com/2018/06/20/us/politics/party-of-trump-steve-schmidt.html
  4. Rtings is a fantastic site. They've quickly risen to the best TV review site on the net. Other recommend sites are flatpanelshd.com and hdtvtest.co.uk Cnet is solid too as David Katzmaier is well respected by those in the calibration biz.
  5. WiFi on my launch Switch seemed fine. Siginal strength wasn't nearly as good as my other devices, but it never dropped on me. Honestly, the only disappointment I had was with the screen. Blacks just never get that deep on it and colors just don't pop compared to a Vita or phone.
  6. I bought one long ago too for $80. Can't believe how much they are going for today. It's a cool little console with a great controller for its era, but arcade style games only have legs so long and it eventually became a display piece. Once in a while I consider buying some more games for it, but I'm always hesitant to power on given tubes have a finite life.
  7. This is the second major attack on American small businesses this year. The last one flew entirely under the radar of the media when international postal rates were drastically increased.
  8. 4k gaming is very good on the X900F, but 1080p gaming has serious lag issues. It hovers around 40ms at 60hz with or without HDR.
  9. Watched a recent video of it in action running NeoGeo CD titles and noticed missing shadows in one of the fighting games. Shadows were also solid instead of having the transparency effect they should have. Made me a bit weary of how far along the emulation quality is when they felt comfortable releasing a video which such a glaring flaw. I really want this to be good too because it's the perfect solution for playing old games. I don't buy as many retro games anymore as I once did, but I'd love to pull games from my storage and play them on my TV without having to jump through hoops to make them look good.
  10. At this point, you could probably claim squatters rights and own the entire IP.
  11. Be aware if you're sensitive to input lag, those Sony sets are slightly above 30ms. LG OLED sets are close to 20ms. Samsung LCD's typically hover around 20ms as well. Sony is launching new LCD and OLED sets later this year with a new image processor. Hoping it drops their input lag numbers down as I'd love to get a Sony OLED set over an LG one simply because they have the best image processing in the business.
  12. I'd be down for it if I went to the movies often, but I seldom ever do. I do prefer AMC over the local chain who owns all the other movie theaters in my area. I always go to AMC as their ticket prices are cheaper and all their seats are power recliners.
  13. While the big bugs with UHD playback on the Xbox have been solved, I have heard that it still has issues. Microsoft has never really been strong at video playback in general though. You'd be much better off purchasing a Panasonic UHD player.
