    Been in software for a decade and 2020-2022 was me nearly doubling my salary by jumping around a few times. Now I manage and hire devs and QA and product folk and the super high salaries they were asking have significantly cooled off due to the tech job market having shit the bed after the last few years. Not sure how long this cooling period will last. When Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Google have wave after wave after wave of massive layoffs, the market is flooded with job seekers.

    At least one child was killed in this. I just don’t know what to do. I was driving with my son when we passed right by there. Could have been us so easily.

    Expect another news story out of Allen, Texas (outlet mall). Just drove near there and tons of police/SWAT activity. all I can say is that today I rolled “not shot at a mass shooting event,” maybe tomorrow is different.

    Simply because COVID policies had immediate and tangible effects on people. Climate change policy barely has any real-world implications on many people - at least the policies we've tried to implement in this country.
