  8. Dang, they went with another offer. Sucks, but we made a commitment not to over-bid for houses. There will always be another house that will come up that we will like just as much. Plus...more money to invest, in the short-term!

  9. I know first hand as I'm both a construction manager and a project manager that has to interact with rich elites at the job. I've done an experiment of sorts where if I wear a long black P-coat and a white hard hat, then they tend to treat me better. But if I wear a red or yellow hard hat and a regular winter coat, then they treat me worse and dismiss my ideas, damn near every time!

  12. Welp, I just put in an offer on my first house. Offered exactly the asking price since they priced it to move (we googled and the owner was hired across the country). Could have offered lower, but it's only been up for a day and there seems to be lots of interest. It's literally a block from where my wife works, and in a great neighborhood, and below our budget. The best thing? We're willing to walk away, if needed. We've seen what falling in love with a house can do to people...and we won't allow that for us, lol.

  15. True normal is years away. As long as the virus is transmitting in the developing world (most forecasts have that going through '22 or '23) new variants will pop up. A lot of researchers suspect that some of the people who are already vaccinated will be susceptible to these new variants. There is a very real possibility that many people will have to go through multiple rounds of vaccination. I don't think governments have come to this realization yet -- but I hope they have behind closed doors. IMHO they need to think about how they can speed up iterations on the current vaccines comi

  22. They don't. That's the point. Fact of the matter is many global south countries will not have widespread vaccination until 2023. It's indefensible that hundreds of millions, at least, have to suffer for years and we can't relax patent protections for the covid vaccine to allow a country like India, who has significant pharma manufacturing know how and infrastructure, to at least attempt to make more vaccines without fear of reprisal from other countries; we should be giving them the know how to further ramp up production anyway. Further given that most of the vaccines h

  25. Yeah, this shit is real. Again it’s always well acted, but by the end of the game... I fucking get it, Kratos sucks at storytelling. God of War 2 is probably still the best in the series. It’s less ambitious than some of the stuff that came after it but I think it’s the best at understanding what it wanted to be and really focusing on delivering that specifically. God of War 2018 is almost always very good, it’s just a bit too ambitious and a bit unfocused.
