  1. For the record, I had no idea we have a space laser. Local Jew Feels Left Out Of Worldwide Jewish Conspiracy LOCAL.THEONION.COM SOUTHFIELD, MI—It is an hour past sunset on a brisk Thursday night, and, like their brethren around the globe, the Jews of this affluent Detroit suburb are gathered in synagogues, busily hatching plots for world domination through financial chicanery and media influence. But for Seth Nussbaum, it will be just another lonely evening.

  2. Confused man buys physical AMC location VELVETHAMSTER.COM A first-time investor has bought a physical AMC Theaters location in his neighborhood after misunderstanding what the fuss was today in the stock market. Ralph Maller, 34, told his friends... OK, so this is actually what I did this morning. I’m such an idiot.

  3. Ha Ha ha Hahahahahahahaha But yeah depends on your state. Might not be eligible because there's probably some dumb law that says because you put in your two weeks you're no longer eligible.

  4. That's because the Democratic Party has some basic level of standards and ethics. The Republican Party has proven themselves to have NONE. They won't turn on these people. They don't care. If they were cool with what Trump has been doing for the last 5 years, they are cool with literally anything. And their idiot moron evil shithead supporters don't care either. None of them believe in anything. What we've learned during the era of Trump is just how much of how Washington works is based on unwritten rules, standards, basic human decency, etc... and when one of your two parties has NONE of that, and has spent the last 30 years brainwashing their dopey hillbilly supporters into frothing idiots... the whole system crumbles into dust...

  11. SLV. They buy physical silver to back it up. Otherwise you are betting on mining companies. I avoid any etfs that trade in silver futures. Edit: None of this is investment advice. My actual advice is boring indexing funds.

  13. JJ was the wrong choice for IX. A rushed, and panicked decision. Honestly, I think he was also the wrong choice for VII, even though I like The Force Awakens; it's a fun movie despite its flaws! He was too obvious and safe of a choice for VII, and while it mostly turned out all right for VII, all the worries of him being chosen came through with IX with his worst tendencies coming through; the mystery boxes, the pandering fan service, the nostalgia, the spectacle in lieu of meaningful character and story progression/arcs. If Damon Lindelof can take the criticisms he got from Lost and Prometheus, learn from them, and turn out an absolute stellar show with Watchmen, I really hope JJ can learn from The Rise of Skywalker for his future projects, even if I hope none of them involve Star Wars. Same with Chris Terrio; dude just does not have the strengths to work in genre fiction.

  14. No. I sold my position on GME on Wednesday before the shenanigans. I tried to buy back in yesterday but my brokers wouldn’t allow it. The bonds are close to full maturity with 4% interest. Last I checked 🌙 > 4%.

  15. It’s really a toss up. PS5 has more exclusives available, for sure, but none are “OMGWTFBBQ”, IMO, unless you really want to play Demon Souls again. There’s also those weird issues some people have been having with these early units. XSX is awesome, but, there’s like no exclusive games and the main appeal atm is playing last gen games at a better framerate/resolution (PS5 does this too, but it seems to be on a greater scale with XSX). TLDR: put the money into AMC stock instead. TO THE MOON, BABY. 💎🙌 @Joe

  20. I do believe we see some weird inflating of Sony game scores when titles like Horizon Zero Dawn or Ghosts of Tsushima are barely-a-step-up (and a step down in my opinion compared to recent entries) Ubisoft open world games. I always have to be extra skeptical of Sony exclusives because people overhype the fuck out of them. I still can't believe one of the counters to Horizon's bad combat was that I should enjoy setting it up so I can watch the AI fight each other, like a fuckin' video game bum fight or something. Good lord, just make the combat fun! Anyway, Bloober team makes good stuff, but not great stuff, so the reviews based on their history seem to be about what would be expected. Gonna dig into this game thanks to Game Pass, still not sure what to think of the solo split-screen stuff I saw in the Digital Foundry video (seems like a tech gimmick more than something important to the game, which is especially not something you want in a horror-themed title) but let's give it a shot and find out.

  21. I'm torn. We need the ability to put down a game any time and resume, worry-free. But to me, that's a separate issue from making death in games matter. I think games are way less fun and interesting and rewarding when you can just die 8,000 times and you only lose the minute or so you spent in the fight. It's smoother and more convenient, but then I just kind of don't give a shit about actually winning. Same when games are just too easy. It turns the concept of conflict into a chore rather than a struggle and a test of what you've learned. Ironically, it makes EVERY encounter feel like something I've done a thousand times because with no challenge or fear or failure, it's barely different than running up to a terminal and holding X to hack it. Menial, repetitive. Of course, I also hate losing progress because I hate redoing anything twice most of the time, I rarely even watch movies twice and wonder how anyone can watch the same film dozens or hundreds of times without going insane. So I guess what I'm saying is I want a system that has meaningful consequences for failure, but not the soul killing tedium of repetition that is save point hostage situations.
