Boy. Where to start? I left Mormonism for a lot of reasons, but their financial practices were in the three main reasons that made me go "Fuck this shit." I'll start small and work my way up to the story in the OP. Pardon the rambling but I'm just typing and linking. This probably won't flow that well. The church teaches as a commandment that you must pay 10% of your income to the church to build the kingdom of God on Earth. It also commands that you fast once a month and donate the money you would have used for food to the church as a fast offering. I did this from the13 points

England has it right: drastically lower the allowable amount of nicotine in tobacco vapes and the usage rates will plummet.3 points

It's not much, but it's something. Still, I have a hard time imagining that real problem on this issue is that we don't have enough science. I'm always in favor of more science, but if decades worth of scientific consensus isn't enough to convince the GOP on climate change or vaccines, I don't suspect a pair of studies will move the needle on gun control.3 points

Correction: "The Quietest Place Chapter Three: Dead Silent" with the tagline " The Silence is Deathening". You're welcome2 points

He could be like a dog and his aging changes rates as he ages. Maybe from 0-50 or 75 he goes through toddler stage then rapidly ages in the next 25 years to maturity then it levels off for the next 800 years.2 points

I noticed it immediately and was amazed so few others did. At the time, I figured it was because of how bad Nintendo's servers were.2 points

Ok. So I’m now 30+ hours into this game. Playing on PC. I bought the game at launch 11.11.11 on Xbox 360. Aside from a couple quests, never played the main story. Also pulled a “GTA” and got lost doing my own thing. Now that I’ve decided to buckle down and go for the achievements (yep. I’m lame) I wanted to play the quest. So far it’s actually rather interesting and pretty good. I’ve met some really cool people and I’m obviously joining guilds along the way and such. Hell I’ve never bought a house until now. Wasn’t aware you even could. This game is more1 point

This might not bother you guys, but the PS4 version at the very least has glitched/missing ambient soundtrack in quite a few areas and I've seen in confirmed in quite a few playthrough videos. The sound design of Dark Souls was extremely important to me, I always played it with headphones, and honestly, I'm not interested between that, which could've been patched had they even remotely given a shit about this, and the lighting changes and so on. Dark Souls is quite possibly my favorite game...ever...and for me personally, it's unacceptable that they fucked with the aesthetics in e1 point

I'm a few weeks behind as I just on demand AEW whenever I can but I'm still trying to figure out who the face of the company is. Like literally, who is the top "face". Looks like they are trying to make it Moxley. So far AEW has the worst parts of WCW and TNA where it's all heels, all the time. Not that we want some John Cena running around burying everyone, but there is a balance that they are not even close to achieving.1 point

Not to beat a dead horse, but watch the first trailer for The Force Awakens, and pay attention to the first lines from Rey, Finn, and Kylo... ...Then think about where they were by the end of TLJ. Rian Johnson handled each character fantastically, and only continued the natural arc that JJ created in TFA.1 point

In case folks weren't clear, The Mandalorian takes place five years after Jedi, but 25 or so years BEFORE The Force Awakens.1 point

Yeah they said they still had to emulate it but since they knew they were going to do it ahead of time, they took it into account when designing the system. So it didn't take as much trickery as with the 360/OG emulation on XBO.1 point

But I'll say this. I'll rewatch for the characters. In the original trilogy, I was interested in the story. The setting. The lore. I wanted to see the defeat of the Empire and I wanted to see the Good Guys win. The redemption of Vader was really just the icing on the cake. I was never really invested in Luke's journey to become a Jedi. That seemed so small potatoes compared to the whole galaxy's struggle. But in the Sequels, I CARE about the Jedi and how the Force reveals itself in the characters. TFA and TLJ did that. Begrudgingly, I'll admit that JJ Abrams hel1 point

Sorry @GeneticBlueprint, the Times article I read earlier said otherwise. Thanks for the correction! It should be noted that 501c3’s are not required to to charitable work. There are many types of activities that are allowable under that federal designation.1 point

There shouldn't be anything that is nontaxable. Charity is just a tax dodge used to justify low spending on social services.1 point

He brags about his electoral college victory then talks about the verdict of the ballot box and the will of the American people when he didn't win the verdict of the ballot box and the will of the American people have never actually been on his side. As some (most?) of you know I used to be Mormon. I have a lot to say about this and mormonism's money practices but I'm going to be busy most of the day. It will be a long fucking rant so hopefully you all don't mind.1 point

Played another 5-6 hours of Red Dead Redemption 2. I am enjoying the characters, they story, and the world. Rockstar did what they do best, they created a world that I want to spend time in. However... 1) The shooting mechanics are abysmal. It feels like I am playing a 7 year old open world game. 2) It tries for realism in so many areas. However, If I bump into someone in the open world I might get a bounty. Kill 30 guys in a mission -- and nada. 3) Preventing me from running an galloping sucks -- AND THEY DO IT ALL THE TIME 4) Having the camp as a place y1 point
