Cheap HDMI video card that supports DTS audio?

12 July 2014 - 09:26 PM

I just acquired a bit of an older desktop computer that I plan to use as a HTPC, but right now it only has VGA out.

I need to find a cheap video card that uses HDMI but also supports DTS HD for my 7.1 surround sound in my home theater.

Does anyone have a good recommendation?

So I'm making my own arcade stick. *pics*

This is the prototype. Just figuring out the layout and the buttons and what not. First actual woodworking project too. Had to buy a few tools and what not also.

Here are a couple pictures of the rough draft of my arcade stick. I probably wont even use it too much. I just wanted a little project to keep myself busy for a while.

Thief still says it's not released?

25 February 2014 - 06:48 PM

I preloaded Thief on steam yesterday, but when I got home today to play it it still says that it isn't released it so I can't play it.

How do I fix this? I've restarted Steam a couple of times and I just can't get it out of "Preload complete, unreleased" status.

Is this ISO the full Windows XP or is it just Service Pack 3?

Directly from Microsoft so it's not illegal or anything. :P

I'm wondering if I get that, is that the whole operating system or is that just for Service Pack 3?

The Steam in home streaming is awesome.

It works much better than I was expecting.

I have a pretty beefy main computer, but I also have a very old laptop with a dual core 1.9 GHz processor and 2 gigs of memory.

I was able to stream fully modded Skyrim with no issue, and the lag was a LOT lower than I thought it would be.

These are the type of graphics I am able to get on this shitty laptop. (This was not taking directly from the old laptop. Just an example I had on my main computer of the modded game)

And to put the lag to the test a bit, I did play some Geometry Wars with my xbox controller and it was actually very playable. The lag was hard to notice, actually.

Well done, Valve. Well done. Now I have a use for this old laptop.
