Have you ever co-opted the habits or routines of ‘successful’ people?

But are you following the 12 rules for life and disavowing the post-modern neo-marxists? -
Start over? The fuck? Do you not keep multiple saves? I keep like 30 saves in case I need to go back 1-2 hours because I missed something big or because of possible glitches. Also that scene is neat but definitely not worth starting over for.

Game runs so much better than at launch. RTX 3080 with an old ass intel CPU, running everything maxed + path tracing & ray reconstruction on, DLSS set to performance, 1440p resolution I'm getting 55-60fps. Could probably get a locked 60 if I bumped a few sliders down.

Today I learned the term "Nickelodeon" originates from screenings of the very first motion pictures; wherein theaters would charge a nickel to view an odeon (the Greek word for show). Hence a "Nickel Odeon" or a 5 cent show. Thanks drunk history.

General Gaming Games with great stories.
thedarkstark replied to CastletonSnob's topic in The Spawn Point
I don't think games are incapable or are inherently an "inferior medium" I think its moreso that 95% of games view story as an afterthought and the 5% that dont probably don't spend nearly enough of their budget hiring good writers. I think games are capable of far surpassing movies in both their storytelling & atmosphere building which is why it's always so disappointing to me that none really do. I think games are incredibly underappreciated as an art form because their ability to immerse you and evoke a sense of euphoria I just wish the writing & direction would catch up. I do think we're getting much closer to that but I wish more of it was told organically & less through cutscenes. -

There are games I'd put on the fringe of being good but even something like the last of us (which is one of those games for me) is a very cliche and "been there done that" experience with a few interesting twists. There's a reason why all the movie TV show adaptations are ass. Some of it certainly has to do with poor direction but most of it is poor source material. I love video games but never once has the story ever been a reason that keeps me playing. -

Nothing. Even "the best" game stories wouldnt be good enough for a B-movie. -
General Gaming Just beat NieR: Automata.

The first mission is so bad it immediately killed any desire I had to play it. -
🤣 Halo was a disaster. 🤣 Hifi rush isnt triple A, not even close. Great game though Deathloop launched on ps5 first because the game was already 90% finished when MS acquired Bethesda/Arkane and they already had a deal with Sony on place. It was also pretty disappointing coming off Dishonored. Forza ok fine but pretty hard to ruin a copy/paste of the previous 6 games. Psychonauts 2 I will grant you. So you named like 1.5, 2 if we're being generous. Hardly the "many" that you claimed
