Secret Wars and Avengers: A interview with some incites from Jonathan Hickman

14 February 2015 - 06:41 PM

This is an interview from the end of January, with some good stuff for the upcoming Secret Wars.

I absolutely love Hickman's work and think he's one of the best writers in the industry.  Period.

I'm really looking forward to Secret Wars and let the crazy begin! :D

Dying Light Gamebreaking Save Bug for PS4 and other versions apparently

02 February 2015 - 02:14 AM

Well, this is the kind of fucking bullshit I really have no time for and often pushes me to never touch a game again.

Apparently when you hit 22% on the "Siblings" mission is where it all goes wrong.

I played today in the afternoon.  Started that mission but chose to do a couple of side missions.  Night was coming so I made it to a safe zone and advanced until morning, saw the save symbol and then quit the game as I had to do some running around.

I load the game up and instead of being at the safe zone where I was I'm at the main tower.  Weird but whatever.  I bring up my menu and bam.  Story is where it's supposed to be, but no inventory, no cash, no skills, no blueprints, nothing.  For shits and giggles I go out and fist fight with some zombies and die on purpose.  I come back and still isn't fixed but now I've got 24 skill points only in the survivor category and nothing else.

I'm on PS4 but a quick look on the interwebs shows the same problem on the Xbox One and I think PC as well.

Has anyone else experienced this?  I'm assuming not or maybe there would be a thread about it.  I was enjoying the game but now with the prospect of starting over, when and/or if they fix this, I don't know if I want to.  At least not for a while.

Busy week as I'm sure everyone else is right there as well.

...and here we go. :)

13 Coins #1 - Another reason to go through the entire previews catalog.  Simon Bizley is one of my favourite artists and his Lobo stuff is just second to none.  Having not seen him too much, I was excited to see that he had a book coming out from Titan Comics.  This is a limited series, 6 issues I think.  A nice little heaven and hell war story and the Biz is perfect for this.  Good first issue. 7.5/10

Axis #3 - The battle against the Red Onslaught continues in this issue! Magneto's brought in some villain flavour to mix things up, including Dr. Doom.  Some awesome art work by Leinil Yu make it a pleasure to read.  This is a big slobber knocker issue and at the end.... Dr. Doom gonna Dr. Doom. ;) Some Deadpool humour as well as a bit of a change for Evan and things don't really get better between the Avengers and X-men. 8.5/10

Lazarus #12 - I've said it before and I'll say it again, Lazarus is one of the best books out there and I don't really know what to say if you're not picking this up.  Fantastic work by Michael Lark who has captured the setting of this book since the beginning, perfectly.  This was a lower key issue, more political stuff going on and Forever gets put in a position that she's definitely not used to. 9/10

Multiversity: The Just - I haven't heard a lot from any of you gents about these books.  Is no one reading this?  Normally, or at least lately, Grant Morrison is usually good for one thing - confusing the fuck out of me.  I don't know what it is in this situation, whether it's the fact that these books play off as purely "elseworlds" types of stories, or what but I'm actually really enjoying them.  Ben Oliver's art here is really gorgeous and it's never hard to get through a book when the art is this good looking.  Anyway, great issue! 8.5/10
