Because @madmankevin made me cry over my vintage 1957 flower wall covering in my basement I feel the need to finish it...well that and the fact that my current office is turning into a bedroom for the next generation PC master race troll due December 2015.
I just replaced all the 1957 plumbing, and am replacing the basement windows this weekend, but is there anything I should look out for when doing the floors, walls, ceiling, electrical and lighting?
In the 8 years I've lived here I've never had any water penetration, and I already run a dehumidifier to keep the humidity in check.
I'm thinking drywall for the walls, my wife said no to fake wood panels...I kid... and some type of drop ceiling...but not sure about the flooring. Not really wanting to go with carpet....since I think it is gross...but I also don't want to have to wear 5 layers of socks because the floor is cold.
I'm thinking of keeping the main part of the basement wide open as opposed to doing close off rooms.
What say you?
