  1. Russian agents at work: Poland arrests man suspected of aiding Russia in plot to kill Volodymyr Zelenskyy WWW.FT.COM Polish national accused of passing on information about key airport as part of plan to assassinate Ukrainian president Germany arrests men who allegedly spied on U.S. military sites for Russia WWW.NBCNEWS.COM Prosecutors accuse the two men of working with a Russian secret service agent to undermine international military support for Ukraine.
  2. Makes me sad seeing Elephants trapped for circus work. It was probably happy to be free, but also very scared and confused.
  3. ...aren't the matches all rigged? It's just theatre. The absolute bigotry aside...this is like saying that a transgender woman isn't allowed to act in a movie about a female baseball team.
  4. It's not quite as bad as that makes it sound, but the situation certainly is dire. I don't think there are many people that believe Russia is capable of any big breakthroughs along the front, at least for the next few months. They are, however, making small progress in some areas. The bigger issue is that while Ukraine might be able to hold them back for the next year or two (which could potentially exhaust Russia's equipment), they are losing the ability to stop Russian strikes on deep Ukrainian targets (and especially cities near the front, like Kharkiv). Moreso, Ukraine has little hope of regaining the ~20% of the country taken by Russia. The good news is that it appears the US House might finally pass a new aid bill in the next week or two. This new aid should hopefully provide the boost in AA defense and artillery ammo that Ukraine desperately needs. However, the US is still acting incredibly weak and is not allowing Ukraine to use American weapons to strike targets inside Russia itself. How can Ukraine stop missile attacks on Kharkiv if it can't strike the launchers inside Russia?
  5. Wizards of the Coast "now talking to lots of partners" about next Baldur's Gate WWW.EUROGAMER.NET Larian Studios didn't so much smash last year's Baldur's Gate 3 out of the park as launch it straight into orbit, colle… Larian Studios have already said they aren't interested in making the next one as they would prefer to do something else. So...what are the chances WOTC try to rush out a crappy sequel to generate revenue?
  6. It's the same people, who, when they see a black or female jedi, go "why is Disney abandoning what makes a jedi a jedi?!"
  7. Both Russia and Ukraine performed major missile attacks last night. Can you guess which side targeted civilians? More than 10+ dead so far in Chernihiv, and 60+ injured (children among the dead and missing): Meanwhile Ukraine struck deep into Crimea, taking out:
  8. "Ah, I see you Bene Tleilax have cloned by beloved Duncan...but why does he now look like famed actor Walter Goggins, from the Golden Age of Earth?"
  9. Russia-Ukraine war live: Zelenskiy signs new mobilisation law in effort to boost Ukraine’s exhausted forces | Ukraine | The Guardian WWW.THEGUARDIAN.COM Kyiv brings in higher payments for volunteers and new punishments for draft dodgers Ukraine says it 'ran out of missiles' to stop Russian strike destroying power plant
  10. I'm not that worried about the plot, I think that Villeneuve will figure out how to adapt it well. My main concern is actually that Jason Momoa won't have the chops to play Hayt.
  11. So basically, dynamic pricing to begin with is BS. But on top of that, I strongly suspect that Ticketmaster purposefully holds a bunch of tickets back, only releasing a few dozen at a time. This means hundreds or thousands are looking at those few tickets, so they can "dynamically" increase the price. Then they release a few dozen more, repeat, etc. TM execs should be jailed.
  12. I am generally against Israel, in terms of the government and actions of the nation state. I'm not anti-Israeli population, however. I am also generally anti-Iran government, and anti-PLA government, etc. I don't think there's a single good nation state in that region, tbh. Israel gets a few points for being more democratic than its neighbours...but it also basically has imprisoned millions of people. The neighbouring countries have also helped with this. Basically, I think all sides are to blame, and all sides are victims, and it's a cycle that will never end because no one is willing to be the last person to take a punch in any given situation, mainly because of how egotistical humans are.
  13. wsj.com WWW.WSJ.COM It's about time. They hold 80%+ of the ticketing market and clearly scalp their own tickets.
  14. Wife tested positive for COVID this morning, though my test still shows negative (though I assume I have it). She's had a fever for 3 days and a horrible racking cough, along with headaches and body-aches. Glad she caught it after being 5x vaccinated, and not at the beginning of the pandemic. So I guess take me out of the last-man-standing contest!
