What's another good dark beer like Guinness?

Like Guinness as in by darkness alone or like as in similar taste?

Dark beer with a similar texture that Guinness has.

Oh if you're strictly looking for the texture then basically look for any stout that comes off a nitro pour.

I guess these are the only ones they sell where I live.

Nitro stout is amazing, especially on tap. My favorite is Left Hand Nitro Milk Stout on tap. Bottled it isn't as good and I'd rather have a Guinness or Smithwicks.

Something to keep in mind is that Guinness in the US is like a lite stout. Most are heavier and double the alcohol. Also check into Porters.

Finding great stouts is like a life goal that is hard. There are many good ones but few that blow my mind.

@Tyresian

Old Rasputin Imperial Russian Stout.

That's all you will ever need.

Old Rasputin was my introduction to imperial stout. What's great is I had no idea what I was getting myself into, I bought it completely on a lark on the criteria that it was in the craft beer section of the supermarket, and that I liked the packaging. What an awesome outcome beer to open up considering I was making a 100% uninformed purchase. :daydream:

My current favorite stout is Great Divide Yetti Imperial Stout :drool: If you can find it get yourself a bottle.

I think I'm sitting on a bottle of either that or the oaked one (maybe one of each?). That's probably getting to the point where I should be drinking it, if it hasn't already gotten there.
