Xbone supports up to 8 controllers

Sorry, but my big screen is made for only one screen. I don't do any of that split screen shit. But imagine a game that's not a party game where 8 people shared the screen controlling different aspects of a ship or Jaeger or something similar. That would be awesome, which is probably why it won't happen.

Good for sports games, and that's basically it. Maybe games like Scene It, etc. But cool that the option is there.

Cool I guess. PS3 supported 7 controllers right? Did any game take advantage of that?

Just had a thought... If you ever wanted to do this it would involve $480 worth of controllers!

Bomberman took advantage of 7 players on the PS3. Outside of that no idea.

I think only a few sports titles. NBA rings a bell.

PS4 only supports four controllers though. Xbox One exclusive advertisement incoming!

Kind of a useless feature but I guess it'll be cool for party games.

Maybe this feature has more to do with xbone recognizing the player based on controller profile rather than actually being utilized.

Not that it matters all that much, but according to articles today on both IGN and Joystiq the PS4 supports 4 controllers. PS3 supported 7.

Cool, I suppose...can't think of one time I've ever had seven other people in the room that wanted to play the same game though.

I always thought 6-8 players would be fun for a local hack & slash game. Since 4 players are already sharing the screen, adding 2-4 more players could be quite fun. And with HD graphics and more power I was a little disappointed it seemed like no one tried to do it this gen.

Cool but, sadly mine only needs 1 controller. None of my 35 and over friends come over to play games.

Hard to believe that no one wants to play video games with a nice guy such as yourself.

I thought there was a thread here a few days ago that said PS4 already won because you can plug in headphones to their controllers...
