"Watch out world! We are back!" Arpaio, 87, said in a statement in which he promised to reinstate the extreme measures that made him famous, like housing immigrants in outdoor tents in the 100-degrees-plus temperatures of the Phoenix area.

Arpaio was defeated for re-election to what would have been a record seventh term as sheriff in November 2016, shortly after he was charged with contempt of court for having ignored a federal judge's order to stop arresting immigrants solely on suspicion that they were in the country illegally.

Last year, Arpaio lost a Republican primary race for the U.S. Senate to Rep. Martha McSally.

He is a true piece of shit. His pardon reflects more on Trump than him. This guy needs to do something that puts him back on the hook to get locked up for life. Joe keeps hoping people will forget that he was found guilty and that is why he was eligible for a pardon. The pardon just removed the jail time not the guilt of the crimes.

Except a pardon does in fact legally remove the crimes. Cuz Trump didn’t see them as crimes.

My bad. I thought it removed it completely.

Don't beat yourself up about it. US criminal justice is tough to keep up with when you're Canadian. Especially when you own Ferraris and lumber mills. Maybe get your secretary to fill you in on the details during your next flight to Japan.

Shortly after Sheriff Joe was Pardoned he tried to have the courts throw out he connection and that didn't happen. Joe is convicted of his crimes and was found guilty. That is not going away. Also you have to think about it if you are not found guilty you don't need a pardon. He wants it to go away like it didn't happen but people will not forget. He is scum and should rot in jail.

Jail is too nice for him. I think a tent in the Arizona sun is better
