I looked at the movie times and Endgame is completely sold out here. Unless they add more showtimes (probably will), you’re not seeing Endgame at my theatre.

Theaters are adding stupid early times, like 4:00-5:00am. It’s bonkers. We are going to cancel La Llorona and Breakthrough tomorrow night to squeeze in more Endgame at the indoor, and doing both screens Endgame at the drive in.

Turns out the Thursday previews + Friday will be closer to 160 million, setting the stage for a 350 million dollar 3-day.

Holy moly.

Isn't that more than any box office weekend ever? Like not single movie, but all movies combined?

Also, I guess this means that when the next Marvel movie fails to again do what has never been done before, it'll be because of women of Endgame?

$644 million worldwide already, holy fuck.

$1 billion opening weekend worldwide is a foregone conclusion, eh @sblfilms?

Yeah, we are in “how much past 300 million/1 billion” territory.

Rise of Skywalker, possibly? That has the advantage of coming out around the Hollidays.

Highly doubt it, SW doesn't have the worldwide appeal that Marvel does, most specifically China isn't in love with the franchise. Pretty sure The Last Jedi was yanked out of theaters over there after only 1 or 2 weeks.  It barely made over 40 million there.

Maybe people lamenting superhero fatigue were right if they meant that superheroes themselves were fatigued after moving so much currency.

If only the board didn't have that wipeout last year.

I'd totally search for a post by someone who'll remain nameless who was predicting superhero fatigue after Age of Ultron grossed less in its opening weekend than the original.

Yeah, Endgame is getting to claim up to 3 days worth of tickets as “opening day”. Not quite apples and apples here.
