I've heard some negative impressions of the new armour system, with the implication that it's simplifying things again. Anyone know details? One comment was basically that Blizzard has decided to cede the "crown" of ARPG to Path of Exile, in terms of not improving on D3 in any meaningful way, in terms of crafting/economy/stats. Obviously D4 will sell amazingly, but it will be disappointing if they continue to dumb down the series. Oh, also apparently set items will not be in the game at launch, they will be included at a later date.

There's nothing "apparent" about that - it was announced earlier last month:

One of the most iconic parts of the Diablo franchise won't be making its way to Diablo 4 at launch, as the game's set items have been postponed.

Here are snapshots of Kehjistan, Scosglen, Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, and Hawezar and information on what to expect in each.

With Diablo IV, Blizzard aims to revamp the danger-infested hellscape of Sanctuary. The world’s five explorable regions – Kehjistan, Scosglen, Fractured Peaks, Dry Steppes, and Hawezar – offer their own flavors of topography, cultures, quests, and, of course, monsters. Blizzard is going to great lengths to ensure these regions are not only fun for players to explore, but feature more narrative cohesion and a stronger sense of place.

Diablo veterans have explored regions of Sanctuary before, but this time they’re more than one-note areas highlighting a single climate or element, such as snow or desert. Each of them is biodiverse in its own right, with multiple biomes and threats exclusive to them. These realms also blend more naturally together; the lush green of one area gradually withers away into the parched brown of another region's dry canyon, for example. Villages and their residents better reflect the cultures and stories of their local areas, reinforcing the sense that regions feel like self-contained worlds filled with history, both new and old.

We spoke to Blizzard art director John Mueller, senior game designer II Dini McMurry, associate game designer Madeleine James, and senior game designer II Harrison Pink to get a snapshot of what these areas have to offer, including video clips highlighting each of them.

Previews a few weeks ago loved the gear system.

im good without set items at launch. That is no part of why I play Diablo.  As long as there is lots of compelling gameplay.

I'll Be all over this game on launch. Love D3 once reaper of souls came out and fixed all the issues the OG game launched with. I still believe it's one of the better game values out there alot like No Mans Sky. Totally different games but they have tons of replay value, just tons.....

Just 4 games coming this year that will get my money day one.

      1.Dead Space: Remake  Purchased

      2.Resident Evil 4: Remake

      3.Diablo 4
