Marvel's New Warriors series

Recommended Posts

Marvel's New Warriors series will have Squirrel Girl, Night Thrasher, Microbe, Mister Immortal, Speedball and Debrii. It will be a 30 minute comedy series on Freeform. They haven't finalized casting yet for the series. @skillzdadirecta probably knows a lot more about these characters because I only know about Squirrel Girl.

I have the New Warriors first appearance :P but the line-up was VERY different. Of the original team from the comics, only Night Thrasher and Speedball remain in this show. I know Mr. Immortal (I have HIS first appearance as well :P) too because he was part of the Great Lakes Avengers... a goofy Avengers wannabe group that operates out of the Mid-West I believe. He was never in the New Warriors as far as I know (But neither was Squirrel Girl for that matter) I'm not familiar with Microbe and Debrii... they may have joined the team later when I wasn't reading the book.

The New Warriors were intended to be Marvel's answer to the Teen Titans and I was a big fan of their book in the 80's and 90's. They've since been replaced by the Champions who now fill that role for Marvel.

Fun Fact for those who don't know, The New Warriors were the catalyst for the original Civil War when, while being filmed by a reality tv crew, they failed to stop the villain Nitro who blew himself up and killed 600 people leading to the superhuman registration act.

I've never heard of Freeform and somehow that alone makes me question this series.

It use to be ABC Family.
