So my final PAX Unplugged haul incudes Betrayal at Baldur's Gate, Onitama, Cyclades, and Feast for Odin.

I've already cracked open Betrayal and Onitama.  Can't wait to get started on Cyclades and Feast.

It's probably my favorite game to come out in the last few years.

Can confirm.  Was surprised on how heavy it was when I got the box last night from my KS finally.

Now just to get the standees I'm supposed to get.

In other pick ups, I've got the new Civilization game, but haven't had time to sit down with it yet.

Welp... I was in a super boardgaming mode for a few weeks, but barely got to actually play anything and then got discouraged... hopefully giving my family a wishlist entirely of boardgame related stuff was not a terrible idea.  But maybe it will pull me back in!

I ordered Mechs v Minions at the insistence of a friend. Looks fun. Will report back later.

For Christmas we got my daughter A Tale of Pirates, a co-op real time pirate game that is a ton of fun. It plays out over 10 chapters and requires a smart device that uses an app to play out different scenarios as you guide your ship through different encounters. Highly recommended.

I've recently acquired the following:
Star Trek: Ascendancy along with the Cardassians expansion

Fate of the Elder Gods

Battle for Rokugan

I'll be getting Gloomhaven and Cthulhu Wars in the near future.

I've been trying to resist buying this one. I've heard nothing but good things. Definitely report back.

Fate of the Elder Gods

Played this one with some friends last week. Really fun. Quick to learn and a surprising amount of strategy once you get a handle on the flow of the game and how to plan out spell casts.

I have basically everything that is out for Cthulhu Wars and it is by far one of my favorite games ever!

Anyone seen any interesting new or soon to be released deckbuilding games?

I played the tutorial and first mission with my kids last night. Won the first and lost the second. In short, we loved it. The game does a fantastic job of explaining the rules to you and holding your hand as you learn. It then sets you free with just enough complexity to make it fresh and challenging. Game is very skill testing and requires a ton of co-operation to achieve the objective. Whereas with Pandemic, where everybody is essentially playing everybody else's turn, the programming mechanic of placing your cards on your board simultaneously gives a player a little more autonomy than simply doing what the "better/dominant" teammate says.

The pieces are very high quality imo. Your characters are very detailed, the little widgets and doo-dads to mark progress feel great, the minions look and feel great. Also, there are a LOT of pieces and trays to pull out but they mark everything to make it very easy and intuitive to put back into the box. I have a feeling this will be a non-stop game for us until we finish it. Very very fun.

But it direct from Riot Games if you decide to pull the trigger. $80 after shipping there vs $140+ on Amazon.
