Getting back into graphic design.

3 posts in this topic

Been getting back into graphic design lately, learning Inkscape.  Loving using vectors to make pictures, works much better for the type of stuff I want to make.

Anyways, made this tonight.  Thought it looked cool, figured I would share.

The brick wall was a background plate? The paint drips are a nice touch, adding to the realism. The blending looks good.

I only have Gimp and Inskape at work... and I hate it. Especially when I have CC at home. It's such a pain working with two different programs that do the same thing and keeping the shortcuts straight in my mind. The complete lack of anti-aliasing in Gimp is the kind of shit that makes you pull out your hair.

only issue I have is that the texture of the bricks doesnt impact the "painted" layer. Like the bricks near the mouth don't change the shape of the cheeks. It would have a zigzag type appearance where the depth of the bricks change. But you did a great job blending it realistically.
