YEEESSSS I would listen to that theme song now, unironically, I won't lie.

@Ghost_MH
fun fact about MASK toys. My mom once had to pick me up from this kid's house because I hit him in the head with the semi-truck MASK for not letting me play with it.

Ha, that reminds me of the fights my brother and I used to get in over Voltron toys. Nothing like pointy metal lions that get them tossed in the basement.

Holy shit. Came in here to rep the fuck out of MASK but then was reminded of this. I used to LOVE this show! I saw all of it on reruns when we finally moved to West Germany from the commies. The theme song alone made me so happy just now awww haha

LOL! Same!! After watching the video I was ready to geek out over MASK (I had all their toys!) and Silverhawks. Then I saw that Heathcliff intro and it brought back so many after school memories, it made me gasp in excitement and smile with nostalgia. :)

This is it. The one MASK toy I was allowed. I, of course, picked Raven. It was like a poor kid's way of also getting a Knight Rider toy at the same time.

Also, MASK was the edgy Transformers for badass kids, kids with rat-tails or pre-mullets.

We had a couple of MASK figures between me and my brother.  I had the motor cycle that turned into a Helicopter and he had the one that had the side car that turned into a mini sub

I can't be the only one that has GoBots toys, right? I'm talking about back when they were a Transformers competitor and incredibly cheap in comparison.

Oh, I definitely had them. I had a bunch of pretty much everything else mentioned as well. G.I. Joe was what I probably had the most of, but thanks to the internet G.I. Joe just makes me think of pork chop kitchen fires.

I have you covered, Sir:

The jerky kid I hit with the semitruck MASK also had Condor, that's how I remembered it immediately haha

I know Voltron was popular so it wouldn't be on the list but does anyone remember Voltron Vehicle Force? I don't know why, but I was obsessed with that particular one. lol

Of course I remember the Vehicle Voltron. Fun fact, The Voltron Cartoons were actually three different cartoon series in Japan that the American syndicators bought and redubbed into the different versions of Voltron. There were the Lions, The Vehicles and the unaired (in America at least) Three Robot Voltron that had six arms when he was formed known as "Gladiator Voltron"

Here's another mini-doc about Voltron and it is Hi-LARIOUS. @NeoJoe he's talking to YOU directly at the end there.

oh and if you're a fan of Voltron then you REALLY need to watch the Netflix Voltron series from a couple of years ago. SO well done.

Also not technically an 80’s show but it ran from 92-93 which was still that Saturday Morning era.

This theme absolutely fucks!!!

The toys were amazingly badass too

It was a nice solid show... ran on the rejected tv network along with another hero team show called ULTRAFORCE

I posted this in the "what are you watching" thread but WB just released the entire Thundarr collection on Blu ray. I have been getting up on Saturday mornings with a bowl cereal to watch a few episodes.

If you are interested you can watch a lot of these on youtube , sometimes full sets.

MASK was also added to Amazon Prime a week or two ago.

Battle of the Plants was great but I also loved, of course not sure these were all 80s, could have been late 70s

DUDE. The toys for these formed the Shogun Warriors line that Godzilla and Rodan were also a part of. You're right though,  these were late 70's... a lot of folks I'm the states don't know about these gems that predate Voltron, Robotech and Transformers by several years.

Those older Japanese shows I watched while still in Central America the biggest were:

Mazinger Z- It was only way later that I found out there were follow up series for it

Super Campeones/ Captain Tsubasa- It was basically Dragonball Z but with soccer players (super dramatic, super shots, episode long plays, goku & vegeta stand-ins). Again it was only later I found out there were more series and that it inspired a ton of legendary players to take up the sport

Captain Tsubasa was huge in Germany too, even in the late 80s still, I watched it all the time.

I apologize if this was mentioned but I also liked Tranzor Z as a kid in the 80's as well.

It was similar to Voltron and I loved it! I would make my older brother draw pictures from the show because he was an incredible artist.

I never saw it but I remember the toys being around in NY at some of the comic shops my dad would take me to.
