At approximately 0412 this morning, someone -- for reasons known only to them -- unleashed a hail of bullets at the lobby windows of a building that's easily within earshot of the building in which I reside. And much like the last time this happened several months ago, it didn't disturb my slumber in the least. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the staccato sounds of gunfire might not have lulled me into an even deeper REM state.
Some people sleep well to the sound of rain falling on the roof, other to the sounds of city traffic. I just happen to sleep well to the symphony of 9mm rounds being discharged.
