A place where exotic aliens, captivating creatures, and other would-be high rollers are willing to risk everything to make their fortunes. Set across one fateful evening, these four interconnected stories explore the deception and danger of the lavish casino city. • An honest salesman meets a career criminal as a dream vacation turns into the worst nightmare imaginable, in a story by Saladin Ahmed. • Dreams and schemes collide when a deal over a priceless bottle of wine becomes a struggle for survival, as told by Mira Grant. • Old habits die hard when a servant is forced into a mad struggle for power among Canto Bight’s elite, in a tale by Rae Carson • A deadbeat gambler has one last chance to turn his luck around; all he has to do is survive one wild night, as told by John Jackson Miller. 4. Now that the game is out fully for everyone, for those of us that decided to get the game despite the recent backlash, let's use this thread to discuss what we like and dislike about the game, as well as to keep up with any recent news. I'm definitely liking the multiple eras, esp. being able to play as a Battle Droid, but where are my Droidekas!? I hope they're added in future DLC!
  5. Really hope the loot box fiasco doesn't ruin the experience.
  6. io9 has been updating throughout the day as new merchandise is revealed. The new Lego Millennium Falcon is the largest Lego set ever created and will go on sale October 1 for $800
  7. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/obi-wan-kenobi-star-wars-film-planned-director-talks-1030505?utm_source=Direct&utm_source=Direct This is the best possible option they could have chose for the next (next) standalone anthology film, and it's obviously the most requested one. This is the first one I'm actually hyped for before learning anything else about it. No casting confirmed yet, but come on. Who else would they get to play him?
  8. Happy Birthday Star Wars!

40 years ago, May 25th, 1977, Star Wars released in theaters. And now it's a series that makes almost a billion domestically. Jesus.
  9. Saving Mr. Binks

Pretty much sums up my thoughts. I posted this in another thread, but I'll repeat it here, Oh wow so they made it a joke about how only kids like Jar Jar and grownups don't like him, how thoughtful and original, and not a weak, tired joke at all... You know what would have been better? Do something actually interesting with him, make him somehow REDEEM himself, and before you type it, don't come at me with something like, "there is no redeeming him, he's a terrible character", as good writing can fix anything, that's what makes it good writing! Just look at Game of Thrones/ASoIaF in how hated characters are given more depth and then become beloved characters. This is one of the problems I have with comic books too where they don't try hard enough to get less popular villains to become more worthwhile, instead focusing more on the more well known villains. Carnage in Spider-Man only being liked because he looks cool, but as a character kind of sucks so not many people like him? Well instead of writing a story that really elevates him, just kill him off for now at least until he returns to do the exact same shit he always did. Characters like Bane haven't been used effectively since their introduction? Too bad, let's do another Joker story. Don't get me wrong, I love The Joker, and love great new stories with him, but if that's all I see, I'm going to get tired of him. If a character like Bane is known for only one noteworthy thing (breaking Batman's back), maybe write some new ones that elevate him more (which might happen with his original creators coming back to write a new story with him).
  10. Movies with Mikey

I recently came across this channel, and it's really, really good. Film analysis with thoughtful critiques and observations, and funny too. Check out a few. The Dark Knight in which he says that he feels like Heath Ledger's performance is the best performance in cinema history, without sounding like a blind Bat-fan The Force Awakens, tackling every major criticism against the movie, from Kylo Ren's fighting, to the film being a remixed remake of A New Hope, which he theorizes the sequels could play into by having Rey go to the Dark Side, and Kylo Ren coming back to the Light, even though I'm not sure Disney will go that route, and stick to Rey staying good, and Kylo Ren either being brought back, or eventually defeated/killed, which while the standard, expected route, I'm sure will be pulled off well. Interstellar, explaining the ending, the whole "love" aspect, and why many people just didn't seem to "get" it The Iron Giant. The ending gets really heavy and emotional. I legit teared up. If you like well put together film discussion, definitely check out this guy's channel.
  11. Carrie Fisher, Princess Leia in 'Star Wars,' Dead at 60 :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( RIP
  12. You've been warned. All spoilers unmarked: Read the whole article. Long story short, Disney gave them the OK to kill everyone since it made sense in the story. So they sacrificed for the greater good, which led to

  16. Greedo says Han shot first

"It said it all in the original script, we played the scene in English and at the end of the scene, it reads, 'Han shoots the alien.' It's all it says and that's what happened," actor Paul Blake, who played Greedo in the film told NY Daily News. Yes, even Greedo agrees that Han Solo should've taken the shot he did originally. "It would be lovely to see them go back to the original version, I much preferred it, I must say. And it does give Greedo a little more glory if he's just blown away," Blake said. If the dead man says he never took a shot, then we must take his word.
