D1P 2017 Charity Campaign for The Life You Can Save: $840 (as of 06 February)   12/12/2016

I've decided to extend our charity campaign for The Life You Can Save organizations for the entirety of 2017 so feel free to contribute at any time!  Periodically through the year, I'll have game giveaways for those who have donated to the campaign as a "thank you" for supporting this worthy endeavor!

  1. The fan on my friend's HIS Radeon 6790 went bad. Started making a terrible noise (loud enough to be extremely obnoxious under any type of load). We opened it up and lubricated it, but it's not going away. Shame because the card still works great. I know its ancient and unlikely but I'm trying to find away for her because she doesn't really have a way to buy a new card (she's autistic and disabled, doesn't have a regular income), but does anyone know of any good options? Maybe a replacement cooler that could be had cheaply? It seemed someone was selling some fans from this specific model on ebay but not any on there now (and those sellers are not responding to messages).
  2. They are distinct brands and they wanted to make sure fans of one knew that this was a product in that brand's line.
  3. Since windows 8 there hasn't been a performance advantage to reformatting
  4. Just keep trying if it says failed, it's the server getting hammered. Mine's downloading now
  5. This article suggests clearing your updates folder manually as well: http://venturebeat.com/2015/07/28/how-to-force-windows-to-start-downloading-the-windows-10-update-files/ It's working for some but also the Windows Update Window will say "Update were installed: Today at X:XX XM (Failed)
  6. Before you begin, ensure Windows Update can download and install updates automatically. Not sure how to do that? Here's how: Turn automatic updating on or off Open Windows Update by swiping in from the right edge of the screen (or, if you're using a mouse, pointing to the lower-right corner of the screen and moving the mouse pointer up), tapping or clicking Settings, tapping or clicking Change PC settings, and then tapping or clicking Update and recovery. Tap or click Choose how updates get installed. Under Important updates, choose the option that you want. Under Recommended updates, select the Give me recommended updates the same way I receive important updates check box. Under Microsoft Update, select the Give me updates for other Microsoft products when I update Windows check box, and then tap or click Apply. Once automatic updates are enabled, launch Command Prompt in Administrator mode and enter the following command: wuauclt.exe/updatenow. That should trigger the Windows 10 download. 9. I just got out of a 14 day stay in a psychiatric hospital. Shit was almost over for me. Now they've got me on so many drugs I probably won't be able to keep my job (can't be on them around the machinery). My friend put up a gofundme to help me out but I won't post it unless anyone asks me to. I really just want to see if anyone else on the PC boards knows this battle.
  10. I'm never going to be put off by he amount of space a game takes up
  11. Sorry been at work all day. I'm a picker in an amazon warehouse so not really able to do anything till I get home. I'll get at you in a minute with my choice.
