  1. Consider the playoffs a totally new season. Hell, Montreal won in ‘93 on the strength of their goalie. of all the teams the Bruins had, I never expected 2011 to be the year the win the cup. Not that they were weak, by any means, but the Caps or Lightning seemed the obvious choice. LA Kings 2012 made no sense to anyone who followed that season. Magic happens in the playoffs(but not for the Leafs).
  2. I’ll survive, somehow. you have an xbox, play something better. Hundred Heroes is coming. Tales of Arise is free on Gamepass, it’s a much better game. Free yourself of Bethesda studios!
  3. Nope. Dropped off it hard. I had forced myself to mainline it on the promise it gets much better after beating it. Beat it, saw the twist, still thought it was mediocre and dropped off. then again, I thought theyve been overrated for 15 years now. Haven’t made a good, modern feeling game since New Vegas. The rest of the genre moved forward while BGS has barely improved at all, imo. Starfield would have felt special…. In 2014.
  4. they really aren’t at all. They are regular people with opinions. And the most widely popular ones are some of the worst. Kinda Funny “reviews” games but is basically an advertising campaign for AAA studios. Easy Allies is a dead outlet and all the talent left. The best show they had has basically been reworked and improved for Last Stand Media by Brad. EZA without Kyle, Brandon, Brad, and especially Ben just feels wrong. MinnMax is great at fostering a community, but is the most surface level Dudebro review company out there. Started watching their “Rebirth Deepest Dive” podcast, and they basically never get into anything that isn’t directly shown on screen, while mentioning the theme of loss but never getting into how those themes affect the characters and the story. Most of the episode I watched was just them making dumb jokes and picking at the weirdest things. IGN has become a joke. Unless a game is truly awful, their review scale starts at 8. Gamespot does have some good reviewers, I’ll give them that. I respect Tams opinion a lot, even when I disagree, because he really goes deep into games. The best network for actual gaming takes, imo, is Last Stand Media. They have an incredible and diverse cast. Colin, Micah, Gene Park, Cog, Raygun, Dustin Furman, and a host of rotating part timers with really varied tastes, and by far the best interviews with Industry figures out there. Plus they absolutely refuse to take any advertising funding from the games industry, so you don’t get stuff like Kinda Funny’s Calypso Protocol spoiler cast (where one of them outright states, “I was going to give this game a low 3/5, but after interviewing the director, I’m giving it a 4!”), right after doing a large paid sponsorship and having the director on their show. None of this is a jab at you, it’s just weird that you think Games reviewers are smart or know more than you about games. They don’t. The only thing that makes them different is they get games early and get their opinion out there before anyone else. Seeing the new “Reviewer to game developer” pipeline that has developed has also made me trust reviewers even less. Especially those tied to a platform.
  5. Most of that list isn’t bad, but no way I would ever put MW at the top. Not that it’s bad in any way, theres just others I think are far better. No way I would put MW above Titanfall 2. Or Doom 2016. Or Halflife anything, or Halo 3 (or two, which is my favourite Halo campaign and Arbiter deserved his own series).
  6. I gotta agree. I played other Saga games, and the demo for this was egregiously awful on every single level. thankfully I still have a bunch of good RPG’s to complete, like Star Ocean’s most recent remake, the Grandia HD collection, and hopefully Eiyuden Chronicles Hundred Heroes if it’s good (I love Suikoden 1,2, and 3 as well if I remember correctly, it’s been a very long time). i know it’s just a demo, but I don’t know how I could ever recommend this game to anyone. My short experience was just awful.
  7. I guess I just fundamentally disagree. I absolutely loved doing everything this game has given to me. Except the chicken side quest. So many great pieces of lore and easter eggs behind all of it. The protorelic stuff was awesome, fighting classic monsters from the games past throughout the different lands. The Turk stuff in Gongaga was an awesome treat. as far as QB, it being so good was reward enough in itself. Completing my card collection is enough.
  8. Oh yeah, I’ll never beat him. It’s one thing I haven’t even tried to complete as I clean up my save file.
  9. But you have all that representation in other games. This game plays up the sexiness and suddenly it’s sexist. I really do agree it’s manufactured outrage, but its coming from the people who are truly supposed to care about free expression. People need to speak with their dollars instead of attacking people over playing a game. It didn’t work with Hogwarts Legacy. and im not talking about here, im talking about attacks Ive seen on social media and resetera towards fans and devs of the game. and yes, the Bayonetta thing is a complete double standard.
  10. Ok, I beat this demo today. The Abbaddon fight is crazy, and this demo is very, very good. I definitely don’t see it as souls aside from having a very good parry system. I went from passive interest to definitely buying this game. The movement is fluid, feels a little like the action movement of Rebirth, yet greatly expanded and improved. This is the first game to really interest me since Rebirth. I dropped off DD2 after accidentally losing multiple hours of progress in a game I already don’t find that fun or interesting, so this was a nice change. Also, FFxVI dlc will tide me over hopefully.
  11. Over and over attacks pass straight through enemies. Not just once in a while. Really weird that you’re so hostile about me calling out problems with this game.
  12. It gave me a weird warning before I slept at the inn about certain saves being more reliable. Frankly it’s pretty dumb
  13. I couldn’t get into it. I loved Secret of Mana during the SNES era, but it was my only entry into the series before the Trials release. I actually close to platinum’d the Secret re-release, but never got more than a few hours into Trials.
