D1P 2017 Charity Campaign for The Life You Can Save: $1,690 (as of September 8, 2017)   12/12/2016

I've decided to extend our charity campaign for The Life You Can Save organizations for the entirety of 2017 so feel free to contribute at any time!  Periodically through the year, I'll have game giveaways for those who have donated to the campaign as a "thank you" for supporting this worthy endeavor!

      Welcome former GAFers!   10/21/2017

I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome any and all "refugees" from NeoGAF who may have discovered our humble little site as a result of the ongoing "situation" over at NeoGAF.   Feel free to check us out and if you like, join our small but interesting community!

So you're new to DayOnePatch - please read this!   10/21/2017

First of all, a warm, hearty WELCOME to DayOnePatch - we're REALLY pleased to have you here!   I mean that most sincerely!   Our site was founded in late 2010 when a bunch of people from the IGN forums got sick and tired of IGN being IGN and decided to create a brand new community under the name BadCartridge.  We operated under that name for a few years until there was a change in ownership which resulted in a change to the current name that we have now.  Since then, we've had a couple of owners before I assumed ownership of the site in mid-2016 and here we are today.   I guess I'd better say a word or two about our rules.  Look, here's the deal:  you are probably a sentient human being with a modicum of social skills so you probably have an idea of what is acceptable to say to another sentient human being with a modicum of social skills.  If what you are about to post gives you some pause as to whether you would say in in real life, then you probably shouldn't post it.  In other words, DON'T. BE. AN. ASSHOLE.  It's not that hard!  While we have a damned fine mod team, all disciplinary actions are ultimately my decision as the Supreme High Chancellor (catchy title, eh?  I came up with it myself!) of DayOnePatch.   Now that the unpleasant stuff is over, let's talk about the great things we have.  Well, we have a very semi-regular podcast!   We LOVE having members of our community as guests on the podcast, so if you don't mind having your voice transmitted to DOZENS of people, then let us know if you'd like to be a guest.   We have a Discord server for you to chat in -real-time of if you want to use the voice-chat capabilities for games or just shoot the breeze.  We have two requests: (a) PM me for an invite to the server. (b) If your Discord name is different than your D1P name, then you MUST tell me your Discord name before you receive an invite.   We have a Steam Community Group! http://steamcommunity.com/groups/day1patch# Yes, I know the title still says "Bad Cartridge" and that's because Valve doesn't allow name changes to Steam groups because Valve is stupid.   But the thing that I'm most proud of is the Announcement that you see at the top of the page.  http://www.dayonepatch.com/index.php?/announcement/40-d1p-2017-charity-campaign-for-the-life-you-can-save-1690-as-of-september-8-2017/ For this year, this community has donated nearly $1,700 to organizations that are trying to improve the lives of people in the developing world.  It is a true testament to the character of the individuals of this community that they've given to this project (as well as many, many others) freely and without expectation of anything in return.  Because of this, I'm honored and humbled to be a part of this community.   In closing, we're really glad you're here (feel free to bring other friends too!) and let's have a helluva lot of fun!

  1. Yo. How goes day one patch? Update on life: In a different house, with heat, running water, a stove, washer and other modern amenities. It's pretty great. Got my tv plugged in at the beginning of December, and I've been gaming on it,watching tv. It was a Christmas present in 2014 that my mom had gotten me. Family wise has also been nice. I've told mcbalty and lancelot know about that. Did a lot of moving a few months ago,but I'm glad that's all done, lol. Had a good last day at the place I volunteered at. Sadly, we did have to sell our exotic birds, but they're at a home we trust. Sold a ton of stuff at our yardsale, and to friends, and etc so the garage/barn were empty, and most of the house besides garbage. Well, and furniture we couldn't take, and some bird cages. There was some good furniture, and cages so I hope they didn't just throw em out. But yeah, new house, some new appliances and a few general positive things happening in my life, it's nice. Update on games: I've beaten a bunch of games since December.
  2. Hm. I've heard it's impossible to get the original theater version as every release/etc has been edited, no matter how minor.
  3. The decline of 'big soda'

I've currently been using bottled water and refilling jugs of water due to having no water. I've laid off the pop, though sometimes there's deals and I'll get em. Though I also mix in packets of juice/lemonade/iced tea into bottle water. before that. Rarely drank the local tap water without mixing stuff into it. However I have tried the spring water in our backyard.
  4. It's finally happening! (site upgrade info inside!)

Hope there will be a dark theme.
  5. So many plumbing fixes, no use. Water meter is broken..Door is fixed though. Around a month and a half without running water. Also the house is being foreclosed on... I can't wait til we get everything moved out of this house and into a new house. Beaten 12 games this year. I do have 5/6 games started/in progress. Then there are also 9 games after I plan to finish...In Progress ones, MGS4 is to Act 4. Near the final boss in TTYD, Spyro 3..World 1 is done, Paper Mario is halfway done. Resident Evil 4 and Wind Waker are started.6 games that I had started on PS2 but I'm not sure if I wanna redo on PS3. And a few games I'm unsure if I'll finish. I have been completing games at a faster rate the past few months. I watchd Furious Seven and I really enjoyed it.
  6. Hopefully we'll have enough time to get our stuff out of this house and find another, and hopefully have enough for a yard sale to get a lot out as well. Less to move.Plus the waters been shut off(pipes froze and broke) and the toilet won't flush. And the mortage company apparently wasn't paying taxes on part of the land but finally got forclosure notice. It sucks. It really does.
  7. GI Season 6: The Tragedy of the Commons

Watching CSI Cyber. So much stuff to get done in this house.
  8. So far this year I've beaten Saints Row 3 co-op, Assassin's Creed 3, Kirby Triple Deluxe, Metroid Fusion,Legend of Zelda:Link Between Worlds,Metal Gear Solid 1,Resistance 1,Spyro 2, Metal Gear Solid 2. So 9 games...Now I'm working on Spyro 3 and might move to MGS3 first. I guess part of Fire Emblem SS is done but I don't really care about it. I might make a thread detailing my adventures. Ah. GI Season 7.
  9. GI Season 6: The Tragedy of the Commons

I can't use ign or xat on the 3DS but it is nice to have access to the internet to kill some time here and I'll have to remember to bring my laptop next time. New Years went fine. Just played a game or two after watching the ball drop with my mom.
  10. GI Season 6: The Tragedy of the Commons

Early happy New Year to everyone
  11. GI Season 6: The Tragedy of the Commons

Maybe this whole time you've just had a vagina with something stuck inside it? Or maybe nature is giving you a sex change?
  12. GI Season 6: The Tragedy of the Commons

Belated Merry Christmas. Also Happy New Year. Hope you all had a good Christmas.

Yeh. Oh, it can get to like 100 degrees in the summer. That's how I got bad heatstroke the one day...This winter it dropped to -48 degrees with windchill a few days. There's been tons of winter storms. I think I've had to shovel the driveway like 4+ times.
