  1. Anybody sent in their left joy con?

Sent two in a couple weeks ago. It took about a week to get them back but they are working flawlessly now, so it was worth the wait.
  2. Make sure to join the GTAV D1P Crew if you havent!

I joined. Looking forward to Tuesday!
  3. Anyone got a fancy joystick? Which one

That's pretty sweet. It definitely is an amazing and capable aircraft. I actually haven't tried the mapping software yet. DCS A-10 just automatically assigns all the buttons correctly (except for the trim hat).
  4. Anyone got a fancy joystick? Which one

I recently got this one as well (along with the Saitek Combat Rudder Pedals). It is an incredible HOTAS. Extremely heavy and precise. If you don't play it already and like study sims, definitely consider picking up DCS: A-10C. It is the game the stick was made for and everything maps 1-1. I look forward to trying it in one of the new space sims as well.
  5. Help with a new video card and monitor

Ended up getting this video card and this monitor. Everything is hooked up an working great. I have started learning how to overclock my CPU and will give that a try this weekend. Thanks again for all the help! Shadows of Mordor is awesome (and looks fantastic with the new card).
  6. Help with a new video card and monitor

I do - it's a CM Hyper 212+. I am not sure if the BIOS has overclocking profiles already set up but I will check it out. Thanks.
  7. Help with a new video card and monitor

Well I feel stupid. Can you see now why I needed the help. I have been hesitant to try overclocking but maybe this will give me incentive to do so. (I am just worried that I am going to damage something). Thanks again!
  8. Help with a new video card and monitor

Thank you both for the suggestions. Is the processor upgrade necessary now or will it bottleneck me? If I should replace it now, will it require me to get a new motherboard?
  9. Help with a new video card and monitor

So I got excited about Shadows of Mordor and went ahead and bought it. Afterwards, I realized that my video card is the one mentioned in the minimum specs to run the game, which made me realize that it is probably time to upgrade a bit. Would someone be able to offer some suggested upgrades? Here are my current specs: CPU - Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge Quad-Core 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 95W Desktop Processor Motherboard - MSI P67A-G45 (B3) LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard Video Card - GIGABYTE GV-N460OC-1GI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card Monitor - SAMSUNG 226BW Black 22" 2 ms (GTG) Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 700:1(DC 3000:1) Memory - CORSAIR Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Power Supply - FirePower ModXStream Pro 600W 80Plus Semi-Modular High Performance ATX PC Power Supply In terms of the video card, I am not planning to use SLI, nor do I need the fastest card out there - just something that will give me a noticeable bump and carry me a couple more years. As for the monitor, I would love to get something in the 24--27" size, that is 1080p. (I am not interested in 1440 right now). I am hopeful that I don't need to upgrade anything else but am open to suggestions. Ultimately I would like to keep it all around $500 if I could.
  10. Anyone get Marvel Legos?

I have it on the PS3 and have really enjoyed it so far. I was somewhat on the fence about LEGO LOTR but Marvel has been great. The story has been enjoyable (with the typical LEGO humor built in), there appear to be a ton of characters, which have all felt unique up to this point, and there are a ton of collectibles to grab as always. If you have enjoyed the previous LEGO games, this one is probably the best of the bunch (based on about 5 hours of gameplay).
  11. Official GTA V D1P Crew Thread. Crew Name = Day One Patch PS3

    Leoben-2 / Chest__Rockwell Thanks!
  12. Total War: Rome II Steam Giveaway

So I think we have a winner. Congratulations Xbob! Thanks to everyone who submitted something. You only reinforced my opinion of this board. I would give everyone a copy if I could.
  13. Total War: Rome II Steam Giveaway

Edited the rules a bit since asking for anecdotes is apparently a bit of a stretch.
  14. Total War: Rome II Steam Giveaway

*** I think the original rules were perhaps a little too difficult, so I have tweaked them a bit *** So this board is awesome. While I don't post much, I have lurked for a long time and really enjoy the community. I have even jumped in on TF2sdays from time to time. Following SFLUFAN's glorious example (he was kind enough to gift me BF3 last year), I would like to give away a copy of Total War: Rome II. It is one of the best series out there IMO and hopefully will be a worthy gift to show my appreciation. Here are the rules: Just post in this thread before Friday, August 30 at 5:00 p.m. EST and throw out either a funny gaming-related anecdote involving someone in this forum (including yourself) or recount your greatest gaming achievement. I will pick the best one and they will win a copy of the game. I will be using Steam to purchase and gift the game. so the winner will need to have an account (as if any of you don't already). Finally, if you have won something recently from one of the other posters, please recuse yourself and share the wealth. Good luck!
  15. Best non-super-famous SNES (and maybe GBA) games?

    - my friend and I could not get enough of this game at the time. It reminded us of the show Exosquad, which was released a year or two earlier.
