Update on the single-device/browser login restriction issue some people are having.   04/04/2017

4/7/2017 update: Now people who've been affected by this are saying that it went away on its own after about a week. So I dunno, if this would really hugely inconvenience you try to not log in on additional devices/browsers until the 4.2 update that's supposed to hopefully resolve this for good.   original announcement: For a long time now, D1P has been limited to three logins at a time; logging in on a fourth device or browser would log you out everywhere else. Unfortunately, multiple people have been reporting that they've started experiencing being limited to ONE login at a time.   The good news is, Invision Power Services (the company that makes our forum software) is aware of the issue and will be addressing it in version 4.2 of the software, which is the next big update. The bad news is, they announced about a month ago (the beginning of March 2017) that the update will be coming out in "mid 2017", so we probably have at least another couple of months to go before this is resolved.   In the meantime, I apologize to those affected for the inconvenience, and would suggest to everyone else to not log in to additional devices until this is resolved if this is something you don't want to have to have to deal with. I'm still not 100% sure on why it's not affecting everyone and why it didn't hit everyone affected at the same time, but the timing of when the reports of this started here mostly lines up with when I've seen reports of other sites having this issue starting, and I suspect that the problem is trickling in because of people happening to hit a fourth login that logs them out everywhere else, and then proceeding to be limited to one login at a time after that.

  1. Heres the specs: Dell XPS 15z Intel i5 2.30GHz w/Turbo Boost 2.0 (up to 2.9ghz) Nvidia GeForce GT525M 1gb 6GB DDR3 He got it because he's going back to college and also picked the default monitor which is 720p max/native resolution (1280 x 720), which means less stress on the GPU since he wont be playing at 1920 x 1080.
  2. I don't own a Kinect but I've been thinking about getting one for two reasons: 1. The mod and hack support on the PC (check out some Garry's Mod vids) and 2. The headtracking in Forza 4. The thing that will sell me is a video showcasing the headtracking and if it will allow for using a physical wheel instead of a make believe wheel with your hands in front of you (the delay on that will be horrendous for a racing game). Any links by chance?
  3. Well I turned off and then on my router and that worked. Didn't reset it or anything either.
  4. Tonight before playing a regular season game of NCAA 2k12 it said the EA servers or connection has dropped. Didn't matter since I don't play it online so I played for about an hour of my regular season then decided it was time to play some Mortal Kombat online. It still shows I'm signed in to Xbox live and I can party chat with my friends, btw. So I load it up and when I go to Xbox Live multiplayer on MK it says I have no connection or need to check my ethernet port. Its all fine since, again, I'm online and on Xbox Live talking to friends even. So I restarted a minute ago and I'm getting the same issue. Does anyone know WTF is up?
  5. That's pretty much where I'm coming from.
  6. I decided on the GTX 560ti. I could go higher if I wanted to be more future proof, but the fact of the matter is I need DX 11 support and I'm willing to play games at Mid-high settings in the next 4 years if needed. Plus I'd rather hold that money back to upgrade my mobo and cpu next year. Thanks for telling me what I pretty much already thought
  7. Also I may be completely wrong on the "2.0 vs 2.1 PCI express" bottleneck. I honestly just need to know if my mobo will support a PCI 2.1 card or not.
  8. I'm running an aged Gigabyte Mobo that I'll link right here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128360 The bottle neck it looks like I'll run into with it is that it looks like it supports PCI Express 2.0 and not 2.1. Currently I'm running that mobo plus a Phenom II quadcore, 4gb ram and a Radeon 4800 from 08. I was thinking the Radeon 6770 was okay looking but I don't know if it will work with my motherboard. I was also looking at the Geforce GTX 560ti....what do you guys think?
  9. Here's my rig: Phenom II quad core cpu 4gb RAM Radeon 4800 series (I'm at work and I haven't upgraded it in years so I can't tell you exactly which one it is off the top of my head) I can run most current games at High settings. Haven't played Crysis 2 or the expansion to the original, but I could play the original at high settings but not highest settings. My main concern is that I can get the game to run over 30fps solid with at least Medium-high settings. What do you guys think?
  10. I've seen videos on youtube but most are dated back to 09. Is the online multiplayer good still? I just got it on sale on Steam yesterday when it was $9.99 but I'm just starting to install Liberty City Stories. Is GTAIV or LCS better online?
  11. I'm the same, but I fear for the longterm affects.
  12. I'll be on between 7-10 central time probably off and on.
