  1. wsj.com WWW.WSJ.COM It's about time. They hold 80%+ of the ticketing market and clearly scalp their own tickets.

  2. I'm trying to figure out how to post process all the images that I got, and it's quite a chore. I started out trying to get as sharp a corona as possible, given the clouds I had to shoot through. Apparently the auto align features don't really work for eclipses, so I've been manually stacking images by hand. One camera was on a motorized mount and the other shoots at 20fps, so thankfully most of the images weren't too far off (as long as I don't stack between sequences), but it's still a pain. I also feel conflicted as to just some of the basics, like color balance. It seems slightly more natural to make things warmer, but maybe the Corona is better off white? In the partial phases they're more or less straight out of the camera, but I could match the colors and exposures if I wanted to.

  4. Yeah, the show did pretty well for Peacock even thought it felt like it came and went. Season 2 has been announced. We tried to drum up some talk in the thread for it if you want to see what some of us thought of it. Basically, it comes off like Zomebieland for Twisted Metal, not that far off from Fallout's tone but more juvenile. But I thought it was a good adaptation worth not forgetting about. Twisted Metal Renewed for Season 2 WWW.PEACOCKTV.COM Peacock’s high-octane action comedy is gearing up for Season 2! Stream Season 1 on Peacock.

  5. And by "truly fantastic", I mean so goddamned bloody stupid that I'm actually embarrassed for the man that it actually crossed whatever the hell he has that passes for his brain: Yeah, Mike - I have zero doubt that you have thought about it for a while in the context of "What's a potential way that the actual salaries that developers are paid could be reduced? Hmmmm...oh wait - what do they do in the restaurant service industry again?" Now, I could see this being a way to throw a little extra support to small independent teams who self-publish relatively "minor" indie titles, but if you think for a minute that I'm gonna "tip" for AAA/AAAA titles, then I've got several bridges around the world that I'd like to sell ya!

  6. I hope this doesn’t come across like me being a dick, I can understand where your emotions and feelings are coming from. I genuinely think that a lot of time you’re arguing against imaginary liberals that don’t actually exist. Like yeah, I imagine a lot of liberals are very vocal about the issue right in front of their faces that has the potential to impact their lives in a significant way. The fact that they weren’t up in arms about a woman being executed for her clothing doesn’t mean they like that, support that, or are even indifferent to it. In every day conversation, you’d be hard pressed to know my stance on fracking because I am a person who exists in the world and not a soundboard of my opinions stuck on replay, that doesn’t mean I don’t have one and it doesn’t mean I’m pro-fracking until proven otherwise. I guarantee that near enough as makes no difference all of the leftists arguing Israel should move on without escalating are also opposed to that woman’s killing and it’s weird to argue otherwise. It’s the same with by saying that the US can’t throw stones because we’re all in a glass house which ignores the fact that tons of people were extremely opposed to throwing those stones and others were actively mislead into thinking it was a good idea in the first place. Even after the heat of 9/11, the American public STILL had to be sold on the idea of invading Iraq, and we were fucking lied to in order to make it seem like we had a reason to do it. It’s one of the few things people in this country, regardless of politics, largely view as a mistake we never should have made. If you’re arguing that Israel should mimic the decisions we made post 9/11, then they are even stupider than we are because they got to watch us step on a rake and smack ourselves in the face over and over for twenty god damned years and now they want in on that sweet rake action.

  8. I saw that and almost got pissed, but then I saw that Unisoft seems to be using “season pass” the way the industry did back on the Xbox 360/PS3. Where season pass was just the post release DLC or the post release DLC for a year. that seems less egregious. However I don’t like what sounds like a day one mission being locked behind a higher tier. That is where we start getting into “they chopped up the full game to sell it for parts” territory.

  12. I can’t take Americans seriously on this topic is my point. They see the world through a myopic lens where all that matters is their comfort and connivence. Whereas we have the monopoly in military power, Israel doesn’t, we fight Iran it just inconveniences us for a little bit. Israel fights them it’s a threat to their existence. But I am so tired of Americans and Europeans criticizing others for doing the exact same thing they/we do and have done.

  14. TBF Iran responded to them killing Iranian leaders. Israel would be smart to just let Iran save face a bit and let things calm down.

  16. Then Iran shouldn’t have attacked israel i know high gas prices would supper inconvenience us. we went to war for 20 years cause two buildings got knocked down and a wall in the pentagon got destroyed so Americans telling Israel to let someone attack them without responding is interesting.

  17. While there’s truth to this, it’s also more in-depth. i always find it curious how Jordan and Egypt get a pass for taking Palestinian land though in the first war. And why the Arab liberation army wasn’t considered colonial but Zionism was. This is my full coming out on this board. Im bi. Does anyone here think I’d be safer in Tehran over Tel Aviv if I was open about that? Then why am I expected to side with people who would kill me because I occasionally like fems?

  18. My favorite thing I’m seeing in the bay now is these, let’s call them liberals, supporting Iran, protesting Israel, yet in recent history had not a fucking thing to say about the morality police and Iranian women being murdered for not wearing a garment. I can not take these people seriously. Dont laugh at Chapelle jokes though you bigot

  22. They're apparently pretty guilty of the crunch culture that a lot of AAA studios are. There's also speculation about Druckmann generally and the departure of Hennig, but a lot of that seems to have swirled around chud gamer reactions to TLoU2 and the studio being "woke" so who knows. The crunch side of things seems pretty well documented.

  24. Spent most of the morning trying to beat a boss (bosses) that were kicking my ass. Took a break, did some other shit and came back and killed them on the first try. I don't expect this game to be on too many GOTY lists but it's definitely gonna be on mine.

  25. There's also a history of boys club culture, including a HR person who only would hire blue eyes blonde san diego surfer type men (this has changed, but in the game industry they would refer to them as "Maria's boys" (her name is not maria)). The crunch isn't because they have high goals or something, it's because of poor ego centric leadership. But reality is that it's a house of cards and they're one fumble from it all crashing down.

  26. Wife tested positive for COVID this morning, though my test still shows negative (though I assume I have it). She's had a fever for 3 days and a horrible racking cough, along with headaches and body-aches. Glad she caught it after being 5x vaccinated, and not at the beginning of the pandemic. So I guess take me out of the last-man-standing contest!
